Ocher is a form of clay in brown colour, it is good in removing odors from fishes. Ocher Happycall Pan main differences is the ocher layer and 5 layer ceratinium coating that is more resistant to scratch, abrasion and corrosion.

ocher deeper n happycall deeper same price, so most will pick the earlier. Jumbo the grills side is more for meat and vegetable cooking on the other thiner side. Grills side will conduct away the excess oil from oily meats and give nice grill, grill side also will not charred the meat from no oily meat. If you are cooking tofu and vegetable, not really suitable to get jumbo, as they will "swim around" when you flip as one side of the pan is deeper than the other. Standard HCP can fit a 2kg chicken, i am using deeper, can’t imagine if i ever used jumbo, maybe turkey?

Tks for sharing. You know these pans really well! How many types do you have?I am thinking of getting one standard pan & one orcher one. Or should I try out one first?

i only have a deeper standard HCP, that is enough for our use. Already used it to cook a dinner for 5, last sunday for 4 dishes within 35 mins. If you like chunkier food, go for the deeper version , the draw back for ocher deeper is the weight, 1.9kg without food (if you are guy like my husband, no issue lah) and because it is deeper, some items tend to "swim" when flip. I face the same question as you yesterday, in the end, i chosen standard HCP over ocher for my mum-in-law as i consider her age. As for me, if i am to choose again, i will get deeper ocher, i don’t mind the weight.

So sorry, i did not clarify my point clearly. HCP is not so ideal for brewing soup, i did cooked instant noodles with it, to see how well it perform.


As a start, HCP is really a good pressure pan, it can really brew soup or instant noddles with it very FAST! But there is a catch, the steam escape thru the vending hole, we all know that, so no flipping is allow if you cook very liquid based food like sauce, soup, instant noodles, etc. The water vapors traps on the upper lid, so when you open the upper lid, the vapours will all gush and collected at the oil drain and soon you will see your stove "flooded", well cleaning the stove again.

HCP can cook liquid based food, it is only the cleaning part that make it not so ideal

I have received my Ocher deep from Smart Green Style. Ordered on Monday night, delivered on Sat noon.

So far, ok. No leak with water test.

The gift silicon tubing looks like original one with groove and small hollow.

Only thing is - the garlic peeler looks quite useless.
