CO for RI n RGS means only need to pass n go express stream, which is 200. I recall coming across one child who got WL from HCI, n requirement was need to score 250.

I don't think so. If you have a CO, you just need to score enough to get into Express to get into HCI. I don't think they would have a separate set of rules for COs vs WLs.

My relative had a WL from HCI a few years ago and there was no indication of minimum T-score stated.

Could it be a case of WL not materialise into CO but can get in with 250 t score, way below COP just becos of the WL ?

It's something that comes in very handy when needed isn't it ?

This is the figures supplied by Crazydad on the T score thread for 2009.

                CL: Mean = 78, StdDev = 10
                EL: Mean = 73, StdDev = 11
                Math : Mean = 63, StdDev = 9
                Sci : Mean = 67, StdDev = 12

He based it on the 2007 figures with similar style to 2009 ie difficult math, easy Chines and tricky Science. Sound familiar right ?

But the SD for math is way too low, and may end up giving a very false t score for math.
yeah, the one above seems quite close to the NY one except the sd for math very different. If paper is tough like 2009, should the sd be high or low?

Been trying to find from the web the average mean for the eng, chinese, math & science & their SDs for year 2010 and 2009 but to no avail. Are they ever disclosed? Anyone knows?

I hazard to guess these are as follows:

                  EL mean = 77, SD = 9
                  CL mean = 72, SD = 12
                  MA mean = 61, SD = 17
                  SC mean = 66, SD = 14

These are the rounded up numbers for NYPS mainstream (excl GEP) for 2010 prelim and I know a number of people whose prelim t-scores are similar to actual PSLE t-score, +/- very little, and these people has been very consistent over the years, at least about 15 of them

                  Thanx for the info!

                        Doubt they will do that.
Now they are like practically begging people to accept the CO, or those with HCI waitlist to put them as first choice.
Even making phone calls to the top 50 on the WL telling them it's as good as CO.

That was two years ago, maybe things are different this year, with so many boys choosing RI over HCI, from what I have read in the posts here.[/quote]no lah

                        not in any year

                        definitely some mis-reporting lah

I still recall my personal conversation with the HCI principal - no such thing as min 240 for those with DSA CO. Just 200 will do
