For paper one, markers use marking machines. Markers only need to mark OE paper 2

But my ds can't recall the questions in paper 2 .

If the kids shaded a bit light on OAS sheets for paper one, and the marking machines having problem recognize the shaded answers, will the kids' score be affected? Will the markers manually mark such OAS sheets by eyeball check?

Not to worry. If the OAS machine cannot capture the answers, the person-in-charge will realise the problem. Not sure though whether they mark manually or darken the shadings.
Probably mark manually. And I am sure the teachers doing that going to be in :torchme: mood.

          Hi Ms Ta and mummystay,

I like both of your posts.

DD for sci two MCQ not sure, math paper one, two not sure, came back very moody and almost wanna cry.She is quite a perectionist.

For mixed ability class, all say very easy.
So, easy or hard is very subjective on psle.

          Cheers,
          Lenny
Ds' tutor said that psle Is very weird this yr!! Reason being that those pupils in the mixed ability classes comment that
the science paper very easy. :scratchhead: :?

The same goes for EL papers, both 1 and 2. Most children always say that the papers are easy, not knowing they have already made a lot of mistakes. The easiness of a paper is very subjective. To a perfectionist, if he does not know one or two answers, the paper is considered as challenging.

Also, this year's compo is considered as easy, especially the zoo one. The children are able to write a story based on the picture, but can they develop well enough to stand out? In fact, a lot of the students who wrote the picture composition are going to write the same kind of plot - elephant sprayed water at camera so camera spoilt. Unless they use very good vocabulary and evokes a lot of emotions, their marks are going to be very average. Easy? Not really.

phew! Ds chose situational writing as he said that the picture compo this yr had no room for creativity . Fr science, my son wasnt sure of the answer for 3 answers and he felt that it was challenging. Wow! Your post is really accurate! :salute: :goodpost: :udawoman:
Hi vlim, checkers will tally up the marks for each booklet once every component has been marked. Got to reduce MOE's workload. They very busy mah.
DD agrees HCL pretty challenging, esp compre OE - not so straightforward. Luckily, DD dun need the extra marks, pass can already. Yours also right? But of course can get distinction, I will šŸ•ŗ .

Those marked in the last 3 days already totalled, bundled and marks just waiting to be keyed in. DD will be joining your DS in the Raffles family. šŸ˜„
