      Hi,

Has anyone tried out this chinese enrichment centre at Bukit Timah Plaza.

Fees are a hefty $500 for 10 lessons.

I have a friend whose 2 kids are there. Says it is not bad. She may want to try other centres in the holidays but for now she finds it sufficient to help her kids.

I have 2 friends whose kids are there & 4 of them enjoy the lessons very much & I heard they prepare their P6 very well :slapshead: :slapshead: . At least my friends' kids are confident that they will do well. Still thinking of putting my kids (P2 & P4) too but their fees are higher than others. Anyway, I will decide when I see their PSLE result!

          Anyone has better recommendation?

Hua Cheng's method is very dry. Not suitable for everyone.

                  Hello

I chanced upon xue Lin at Bukit timah plaza, and had a chat w the lady boss. She created the curriculum for her 2 kids. Worked well for them, thus this school!

                  The fees are :
                  $38 per lesson. So for a 10 week term, it’s $380.
                  Registration fee - $45
                  Deposit - $100

My daughter has been in Berries (pacific plaza) N1 for a year now. Been planning to let her continue and join their star program (2x a week) for next year. Been sorely disappointed that they have discontinued it for N2! So I am looking for another Chinese class for my daughter.

We are fr a totally English speaking family (including grandparents). So berries and her kindergarten has done well! After 1 year, she understands Chinese and can read simple characters.

                    Hi Pixie,

How come yours is only $380? So the price goes up as the child gets older?

I will be trying out the holiday programme for P3 compo and will let everybody know how it goes.

Hello, latest update!!! My 2 friends’ kids, 1 has scored A* and the other has A (in Chinese) with PSLE score 260 and 252 respectively. I understand that they are very happy with the grades and will continue with them for Sec1. My friends strongly recommend the class and claim that the $$$ invested is well worth! A boy who came in at about 50+ marks scores an A too. Anyone other has the experience with them? I am told that their strengths are:

                      1) small class size (max. 8 per class)
                      2) their teachers are very caring and can motivate the kids, particularly Wang Lao Shi and Xie Lao Shi ( a lot of personal attention given and follow up on the child’s progress)
                      3) they emphasize a lot on using newspaper articles in their lessons, even the K1s have started to learn how to read the LianHe Zaobao!.

I was trying to call the lady boss but she had just left for a holiday and was told she will only be back after 19th Dec. I will decide whether to send my children after talking to her, cos I understand she has a wealth of experience in preparing children for PSLE. It seems her 2 kids have done very well!

Thank you for your review! So happy that Xue Lin is starting to have some good reviews! Any feedback on how they teach? Is it a fun environment, that kids enjoy learning Chinese?

My daughter will be attending berries and Xue Lin next yr. hope that it will really help her Chinese, cos no one at home can help her!
