Hi there


any of your kids lost their library books before ? so what does the school ask from your kids for the lost book ? just wanna find out what the school usually do because my kid’s school ask $10 from my kid for the lost book which only cost $4.50 for a new one… i am just thinking its like robbery or does the school have any real reason behind that ??? any idea ?

Different school may have different rules.


Maybe they included the admin overhead cost in purchasing a replacement book, maybe there are other costs like transponder tag, etc.

Why not check with the school or with parents of the same school in the Parents’ Networking Thread?

You can try offering to purchase a new copy of the same book and return that to the school library. No reason for them to reject.

just to update, my kid manage to find the book, one of the classmate brought home and only return after so many days, phew ! at least its not missing…
