Hi Augmum, that's right.....quite an alarming figure
Could you pls reveal this quite an \"alarming\" figure?
:nailbite: Thks.
VC's mum
would need to see the \"official list\" by end of nov,
which also reflect the results of the pupils' subj combo. ( if unchange as of last yr). -

What is the GPA for the O level grp ? izit below 2.4 ?
Last yr had only 8 of them in the O lvl class.
GPA of 2.0 to 2.4, yes some even fr the GEP classes..... -
Snow Crystal:
Yes, personally know some who were scorers of 25x and above.
Retain in IP :yikes: that's a nightmare. These are kids who score at least 255 and above for PSLE!Fat Mama:
GPA for O-level 2.0 - 2.4.
Below 2.0, retain. -
jtoh:
They won't be retained in IP right? More likely in the O level class?

But yes, if these are kids who scored >257 in PSLE it is shocking.
For year 2, yes, they would still retain in the IP class,
joining the next yr students. -
Augmum:
Hi, Augmum, just curious, when these underperforming students are \"moved\" to the O level class, do they have a second chance to prove themselves next year and be transferred back to IP? :scratchhead:Fat Mama:

joining the next yr students.
Just to share, some IP schools do not retain students in years 1 - 4. They pushed them up despite their poor grades.
The end result, kenna retained in year 5 or need to repeat year 6 when they could not meet the rigour of the 'A' levels.
So, I personally feel that if a student needs to spend more than 6 years in IP, it is best to repeat in years 1 - 4, not year 5 & 6 so they could have more time to work on their foundation.

Perhaps, other parents may have more info abt it ?? -
MandyMummy:

Augmum:
The Raffles ones lah. Heard they may review their system because the teachers on JC side are complaining for many years at the appalling standard. May change this year.
