PSLE is a combination of both lower and upper block...2-in-1.
No need to get another book.

          Hi Janet :hugs:
Guess you must be busy preparing for your DS SA2 now? Me too! ๐Ÿ˜“

Yesterday DD1 followed DH for grocery shopping without Mummy (said she needed a break ๐Ÿคท ). But when back home, she said,\" Mummy, I saw this NEW Science assessment book by Just Education at Popular. Very Good cos' it is ALL MCQ so I no need to write too many words one lei! ๐Ÿ˜‰

I was like  - how come end up at Popular when they supposed to go to the Supermarket? DH sensing my thought, replied,\" Your DD1 wanted to get some stationery but don't know why she ended up at the Science Assessment Book section. And she told me this is the new edition (Y 2012) so I \"secretly\" took a picture for you to \"consider\" lor!\" ๐Ÿ˜†

Oh My, guess I will have to make a trip after the SA2 exam to have a look at this new found book discovered by my Dear Hubby + Dear Daughter :imcool:

There are a few good assessments books around.

Firstly, for the ultimate science guide book, purely info and facts,
            1) Buy an orange book : My pals are here, PSLE Science.
            2) Then buy the Science Explorer by ACE PUBLISHER.
            Many schools adopt that book.
            3) Science process skills and Conquer Science by SAP publishing.
Donโ€™t buy the one that you posted.

I used these with my DD and my tuition kids.

If my hubby brings daughter to IMM, they will NEVER end up in Popular at all...bcos my hubby doesn't know what I'm looking for. Like he always says, 'I only pay for bills...don't know what books you buy'.

Don't tempt me leh...as it is, trying not to think about getting that Ultimate Science MCQ.

Can you please clarify which the ones you referring to? And what is your view of not buying?

:rotflmao: :rotflmao: I don't want to tempt you but is my DD1 that is tempting Mummy! ๐Ÿ˜‰

I run thru the past year exam papers with DD1 and realised that she can be rather careless or at times \"clueless\" on attempting Section A - MCQ ๐Ÿ˜“

Speaking from experience, science questions in school exams papers are

very different from the questions given by the tuition centres.
I have 1 class from one of the leading tuition centres in Singapore.
Iโ€™m taking their top class where all the students score 85 and above for Science. P5. Usually the work that the centres give, they can finish in 45 min and their answers are all correct and complete. Not difficult for them. Doesnโ€™t stretch them.
They are bored because they are really good.
So I decided to give them my school paper, and they took 1.5 hrs to finish the paper and really "sweat over it"

I have been using those that I have mentioned for my private tuition kids.
And buy the top school exams papers from the internet.
                    They are worth your money.

I agreed with you that some assessment books are too easy.Their school exams are much more difficult than those books.Top school papers are good for drilling. The problem is sometimes, their answers are wrong.Have you come across any good assessment books for P6?

                      Thanks for sharing

                        HI Dino Mummy,

1 mark to a child seems like very little...but that 1 mark for Science is hard to get, esp in OE section. If the child doesn't write the keyword, he/she won't even get a 1/2 mark :faint:
For labelling of diagrams, it could be 1/2 mark for 1 correct answer...that is really tough. So I'm going through words like umbilical cord, fertilisation, photosynthesis, chlorophyll these few days. Can't afford to take it for granted that he knows.
                        Hi Janet_lee
Yah, i understand....he is always like that, giving all kinds of excuses. Even in comprehension, he can give half answer and lose a few marks for that.
I already stress to him every mark counts in exam. He learnt his lesson aft the mid yr exam cos he short of 1 mark to make it to Band 1 for Maths. And now, I think he forget that lesson...

And I also \"shortlisted\" some key words for him to learn so that he can spell them correctly. There is so much I can do, the rest is up to him.
