This is a silly question but does the P1 have to bring textbooks on the 1st day of school… If yes then what are the books to bring? orientation starts on the 1st day of school so I really don’t know what to expect… TIA

The first week is known as the \"Bonding Week\". All P1s will go for orientation the whole of Week 1. Hence, there is no need for your child to bring any books unless being told by the teachers. All P1s have this \"privilege\" in that their teachers will keep most of their books for the students (so that the students need not carry heavy schoolbags to school). Hence, the teachers will tell the students specifically which books to bring when they start their collection.

Thanks qms for the reply… I am worried that dd is not able to carry so many books on the 1st day… Guess I will just put a few books in the school bag so that it won’t look too empty… 😃

            Hi Bigsnoopy
Think you dun need to pack textbooks in the bag. Just bring along stationery, a notebook, colour pencils.
They wont be touching on books yet....it is honeymoon period for them..

              Bigsnoopy,

The teachers will not collect all the books at one go. Hence, you need not worry that your girl will end up with a very heavy bag.

Maybe let her bring a storybook on the first day? Her teachers will then tell her what to bring subsequently. However, trust me, your girl will not have time to read through the storybook. The first day will be packed with events.

Likewise for parents. So, if you want and are interested, be prepared to make yourself available on the first two days. The school will organise talks on the curriculum for parents.

DS told me that FT mentioned that the Top 2 classes next year are 3N and 3A2. Can anyone confirm?

Currently, top 2 classes are 3M and 3A2 too.

They will based on the final overall results to group the kids.
