Do pop by Nikko that's really nearby Tokyo.. ..really scenic..
Can google for more details, we are looking at our second visit next year..

If you plan to go to Nikko, which is really nice anyway, please make sure that you do not go on eve of public holiday or public holiday itself. Otherwise the train to Nikko will be as packed as our MRT during peak hours. Not to mention Nikko itself.Fairsian15:

May I check what are the must see/do in Nikko? Need to stay overnight? Any recommendations for hotel/ryokan? Thanks.

The journey to Nikko itself is very scenic. In Nov, you can see the leaves turning yellow and red (maple leaves). In fact, you can see the trees changing colour gradually when you leave Tokyo and as you travel up the highlands.
At Nikko, there is a quaint little village at the top. Visit the shrine/temple. Also can see the mini waterfall and rapids. In Nov, you will probably see snow at the top. There are many photo opportunities there. Its quite a change from bustling Tokyo. -
Thanks Pojo! Need to stay overnight or do day trip enough? Any recommendations for accomodation?

Last time we went for a day trip. Day trip is enough on a weekday when you don't have to rush or queue. That is if you leave for Nikko early in the morning and return before nightfall. However you can choose to stay overnight to savour the scenery. There are many rest houses there. Afraid I am not able to recommend any.
