Myanmar maids
-
I am sending my current maid back. Cannot endure her stupidity and forgetfulness anymore.
-
I have never sent back any maid until recently. Even though the myammar maid I had was not very hard working, and did not keep my house clean, I continue to endure it. But something happen and we decided to send her back. And now I look back, it is probably a right decision. My house has been much cleaner now. The floor is nice to step on.
-
The straw that broke the camel was the glass shrapnel from my perfume bottle that she broke. I stepped on it and cut myself. I can endure forgetfulness and lying but it is another thing when she used a floor towel to wipe the glass pieces off my bathroom floor, carried the towel off to the other toilet to shake the glass pieces off and then hung the towel on the balcony.
She has also repeatedly put paper/cardboard near the stove. My kitchen is windy and I have repeatedly told her not to do that in case the paper catches fire from the stove.
These are not all the dangerous and stupid things - and she has the cheek to give justifications. -
hi 1amber,
gosh, this is bad. Yes, I notice that their commonsense is different from ours. So far, I’m lucky in that mine’s still amenable to reason (she won’t justify if i ask her to do things differently). But yes, there are times when my mum complains that she’s really quite block head in the way things are done - have to console her that she has many things to learn.
In your case, good riddance. Hope you get one with more sense and good attitude!! -
Thanks hquek. I certainly hope so.

Hi 1amber,
Whatever your maid is doing it’s super dangerous. Hope you will find a better maid. Good luck! -
Take care 1amber… Hope u are ok… You did the right thing… Better change before more accidents happen…

why did MOM allow Burmese maids to be brought into Singapore ? Evidently they are not suited to work in this country in this environment.
i think at least those Anhui aunties are better -

I have been wondering the same too. Majority of the burmese dnt have what it takes to be a domestic worker. To date Ive only seen 2 that are doing well as a maid and have been in spore for more than 5 years when mynmars were not that popular.why did MOM allow Burmese maids to be brought into Singapore ? Evidently they are not suited to work in this country in this environment.

The agents are to blame, they take in any one frm the village today and with no training send them to spore leaving us with the burden to train.
It may not take long for the girl to know simple hsework or any routein duties assigned to them but their attitude and mentality remains the same. \"hard nuts to crack\"
The agents knw we are desperate for help and due to the recent problems with the other nationality they market the burmese and price them as high as Indons. After 7 months the girl still cant see things the way we do n every small thing have to be explained and shown like a child learning a,b, c.... Almost all their ages are inaccurate and see spore as a get away frm mynmar. -
consumers should continuously voice out so that the problems don’t perpetuate
