Yes, PSLE results is usually released on a Thurs. Expecting it to be 24 Nov, though MOE and most schools still will not commit and say as tentative date.

      Why results released on Thur:
      1) newspaper can published top scorer on Fri and over weekend can arrange interview with top scorer or family
      2) students can spend Fri "digest" results, "racky" and choose schools, then face family over weekend to discuss choices, celebrate, etc.
      3) last few days of school choice key-in should fall on weekdays in case of computer issues easier for technical access

Maybe we can come up with one here??? ^_^
But do note that a proper banding is kinda tough...

For example, there are 3 schools in first position...

RI / ACS(I) / NUS(High) --> All three have different final exams and are thus difficult to band...

Maybe we can come up with a comprehensive one in KS forums šŸ˜‰

Banding is based on school's average \"O\" level aggregate. As IP schools' students do not take \"O\" level and go direct to \"A\" level, there is no basis of performance measurement for this banding, esp. if comparing them with the other secondary schools.

Perhaps you can say that the comparison comes in the form of \"A\" level results performance for their JCs.

Since psle is over must the students still have to attend the sch until 18th of nov? Is it compulsory? My ds says he would rather stay at home as he felt that it was really boring and he has learnt nothing there :snooze:. (Teacher only allow them to read books or play chess )Should I encourage him to go to sch or let him be ? Any advice ?

                      Hi Ms Tay,

DD also got very bored in school.Form teacher mentioned that if they chose not to go to school, just produced a letter.

I would rather dd go to school, if not, she will face pc, or tv most of the time.I think its bad for her eyes.

In school, at least she interacts with friends.

                      Cheers,
                      Lenny

My child is not doing much in school either. She said they are \"busy\" with the (usually) VP from many secondary schools giving them a talk or brief intro about their secondary schools to them. She commented it's really bored to attend all these talks because there are quite a number of them. :snooze:
