My children has attended piano lesson in China for 4years. He has not taken any exams yet? Everyone is going to Yamaha or others, I am wondering how is the lesson in nearby community center. I think the price in community center is cheaper. Please advised.

I may be wrong in this, but according to parents I spoke with, the standard in community centres are really quite bad (I am not talking about music schools renting premises in community centres). If you are serious about your children excelling and doing well for piano exams, don’t save on piano lessons. But be careful that some private teachers overcharge also.

Does anyone have any good piano teacher to recommend at Cristofori Jurong East or Bukit Batok. I would like to get one who can motivate my children, both beginner level.

            Thanks in advance!

You know, I think it's kind of pointless to ask for recommendations for teachers at a music school since most of them leave after one or two years anyway after signing a contract at the school. So very soon your child will get a random teacher. Exception would be if you plan to study with the owner of the music school directly.

Hi, anyone knows how much is the charges from a violin teacher (with a degree) for grade 3 lesson? TIA

It really depends on whether the teacher charges per grade levels OR by the time clocked. eg. my elder boy's tr (with postgrad qualifications) charges around S$75/hr no matter what grade level the student is. So the fees have been the same since we started with this tr. Altho' for my 3yo, the violin lessons at a music school are at S$148/4wks for Beginner-Grade 4. So it really depends on how the teacher is charging.
