      skss:

does anyone know where to find the IP schools banding?

Maybe we can come up with one here??? ^_^
But do note that a proper banding is kinda tough...

For example, there are 3 schools in first position...

RI / ACS(I) / NUS(High) --> All three have different final exams and are thus difficult to band...

Maybe we can come up with a comprehensive one in KS forums 😉

Ha Ha a lot will not agree with your ranking of ACSI there.
And you left out a school in Bukit Timah.

I think there was some discussion about this last year. The schools were ranked in terms of A level performance. Obviously we can't include schools doing IB and diploma in this list as there's no basis for comparison.

Top ranked schools were RI and HCI.

RI / HCI are well known for their A level results...
NUS (High) is well known for its unique diploma programme

Which school in Bukit Timah are you talking about???
I was just trying to bring up the point that it is hard to rank secondary schools... 😂

You are right. You can't compare across certificates - A levels, IB and diploma. The respective stakeholders will always insist theirs is the best. 😉

Hi butterflybee, may I know to whom is your question directed? Is it to me since I mentioned a Shanghainese neighbour many pages back? Or did someone else mention a Shanghainese neighbour as well?

                  Hi SKSS,

All IP schools are excluded from banding system as they do not have ‘O’level exam.

If the purpose of banding the IP schools is to rank them, we should not only look at academic results. Secondary school is the very important formative stage, kids will learn a lot more than knowledge. A holistic environment which allows the students to develop and flourish in many ways as a person is also a key factor. If really want to compare schools, do also consider the quality and variety of CCAs & non academic programs, school facilities, school tradition and even teacher-student ratio, teacher turnover…
