      toddles:

I am so heartened by my little girl. 💋 she actually asks for the SWKD cards! and for some reason she likes the SWKD series and sometimes picks up book 3 or book 7 and says she wants to read them. I try to explain to her (dunno whether her 3 y.o. mind understands) that she has to learn the easy ones before going onto the other books which have the harder words.

over the past few months, I only do the cards with her for as long as she's interested (abt 10 mins at most usually). I try to surface them regularly but usually I forget and we end up looking at it once a week on average.

She likes playing the 'game' where she gets to keep the cards that she reads correctly. And those that she gets wrong, I hold on hand, and ask her again, until she remembers it and says it right, then she gets to 'keep' them. She knows almost all the 12 or 16 words from the first lesson already. and a few from the second and third lessons. her accent is a bit weird but i let that pass. 🙂

Sometimes i think she's more interested in cutting up the cards but guess it's good that at least we start somewhere and she still has a very high level of interest and excitement wrt this series. :rahrah:
      Hi toddles,
Glad to know that your girl likes the Si Wu Kuai Du series, it is definitely due to the relaxed and fun way that you teach, which is what the author advises parents to do 😄

Just to share, now that my kids are in P1 and P2, they actually do not need to spend time learning their Chinese textbooks. In fact, I realized the only effective way to learn Chinese is to read story books regularly from as young as possible. When a child can read confidently, then Chinese becomes very easy and parents don't have to worry when they are in primary school. Otherwise, even if a child memorizes the entire Chinese textbook or do as many assessment books as possible, he is still going to struggle with Chinese and it is going to be a nightmare for parents.

I wish that every parent can do the same thing as you. I love the Chinese language and it is sad to see so many kids going through hell trying to learn it, when it can be so much easier.

        Brenda, Tamarind,

Can I check if the transactions with Peeka are in RMB or in SGD? If RMB, what rate do they use? And we can use ATM to transfer the funds to them? Thanks.

        Hi ksme,

The exchange rate that they use for this order was 1 SGD = RMB ¥5.15

They only accept Bank Transfer and the transcation with them is in SGD.

        Hope the information useful.

        Cheers

Thanks Brenda for your reply. I'll check them out.

          Hi ksme,
          You can check their website
          http://buy4u.peeka.sg/

for their latest exchange rate. It changes quite often.

Thanks Tamarind. Will check them out. Btw, thanks for introducing us to this new way of ordering books. 🙂

                    Hi,

I've read the review at DangDang, and the books mentioned in http://buy4u.peeka.sg/featured/product/60716

is the new edition, machiam like 2nd edition loh. It's by the same author.

I have the first edition and I will not purchase the new edition. I don't see the point. I think the first edition is good enough for me. I don't want to :moneyflies: JMHO
