hi,

my son is in 1 Diligence. anyone else?

a few qns,

1) in the mail, we got a book/stationery list.
we can do online purchase or bookshop.

my question, if my son is taking chinese, so other than the other languages, I would have to get basically everything else, including the social studies/health education/music, right? what about the references-optional? <- advisable to get?

if we go online and buy, is it simpler??

2) for stationery items, they have default quantity, my son is rather untidy, do we need to pre-empt and get a few more? or no need?

3) he is assigned to house Lee, may I know which color is that?

4) for black school shoes, any recommendations? as long as all black?

I'll do the following:

1) I'll buy all the books from the booklist except Malay & Chinese language. I'll buy at school bookshop & self collect. Please be aware on the date. The school bookshop receives the book order on certain dates only. This is what my understanding from the letter. I'll go to the school bookshop on Saturday (3 Dec, 10 Dec, 17 Dec) with my order form (green color form).

2) I'll buy default quantity. I believe all this things, we can get it again from the school bookshop or popular.

3) PE uniform for house of Lee is green color. You can check again with the uniform vendor. I'm planning to buy uniform directly from the vendor prior orientation in order to avoid the croud.

4) It should be a black strap shoes. I bought it when I was at my home country.

1) for uniform/PE, yes, I will go to the shop soon, I believe it is quite nearby.
2) I think weekends may be more crowded than weekdays, but let's see.
I was planning on getting online.. to save the hassle.

hi all,just called the book store (online).

the lady (crystal) told me that the books will only come in on the 21st and if we choose "self-collection which is free", we can go down to school and collect.
So the earliest date, we can get the books is 28th.

cause initially, I tot, self collect is to go to the office - yishun to collect. Silly me.

We have the same understanding. I thought if I purchase textbooks online, I need to go to their office at Yishun. With your info, I have purchased the books online and I’ll collect the books at school. Crystal told me that the payment will be done upon the collection date either cash or cheque.

Just for your info. NFY stands for Not Fixed Yet. I excluded the items that are tagged with NFY, since the items are only available for purchase in Jan 2012.

in the spirit of this forum - KS, I went to the uniform vendor today.
Alas the stock for KCPPS is not in yet. The aunties are quite friendly, and since my son was there, he was given time to sample the size of the shirt/pants… Apparently, KCPPS is starting bermudas shorts next year, so all new students will get that. And yes, Lee is green, they do have a chart for all the different houses.

I asked whether they will be going down to school, which they said yes.
But quietly told me to go back to store to collect uniforms, neater and faster… <– good tip…

well, initially, I tot if many parents were interested in online, we can all order together, deliver to one common place, and get the stuffs and split the delivery costs if we want the books early. however, this way that we both did seems good enough.. :boogie:
