Hi mummystay
Do u know how to calculate tscore without mother tongue ? My Ds2 is excempted
For mother tongue as he is sp nd ...thks
Just curious, how did your DS2 be exempted from MT ? Does it mean he doesn't need to attend MT lessons at all ?
He has to stay in class during MT and Tr allow him to do whatever he wants
As long as he doesn't distrike his classmates .
Oh i see, my little nephew has the same problem. He's in playgroup now. Didn't know that we can request for exemption. Maybe i can share with my sis to ease her mind since she is worried .... thanks a lot. -

You have the bureaucratic politically-correct MOE speak down pat, MummySTay!
I do not know the formula. However, I can attempt to answer in MOE's ever evasive way: :evil:Ms tay:

Students who are exempted from taking Mother Tongue will have their aggregate of the 3 remaining subjects transformed based on a complicated statistical method of computation so that no student will be advantaged or disadvantaged.
On a more serious note, based on my experience, students who are exempted from MT tend to produce better than expected results at PSLE. So, you need not worry.
And yes, my friends whose kids did not take MT had much higher PSLE results than expected. -

Evalim:
My ds ( not dd ) .he did well in math n science but just fair in language
Dear Ms Tay, I believe your daughter did very well for the 3 other subjects right? something like 85 and above hence the MT can be exempted. I heard there is a formula to calculate the T-Score by using the 3 best score to replace the MT, my DS schoolmate, some of them did drop MT but do very well for the other 3 subject...Ms tay:
Sorry Ms Tay! Ya... I realise is a ds not a dd....oh... he should produce good result, don't worry.... yes I believe too those kids who did not take MT score good in PSLE hence don't worry... my ds's schoolmate some is the same, they have autism but some they keep failing MT, marks like below 20 hence they are opt out for MT...
