Janet, don't you know that markfch get his ds to study one year ahead...so p3 assessment bks are ok la....
I kept a Maths assessment book from my elder boy's P4 year (title :Challenging Maths, publisher: CASCO). Compared it to the newer same title from same publisher and concluded that the older edition's level of difficulty is much higher than the newer edition.
Mark, if you want to push harder, can consider looking in older bookstores for some subjects  -
My boy got back his EL, MA and CL paper 2 marks ytd. Happy that he has improved tremedously in the EL OE compreh. Disappointed that he has not prefected his checking methods in MA. Very angry that he did not improve in his CL paper 2 :frustrated:
Now waiting for Sci marks and the overall CL marks. -

Hi Mark,
I have the Preston Science PSLE. This book has been around for donkey years. It’s called ‘Completely NEW PSLE Science’…covers P3-6. As parents here, we are ALL kiasu. But the education system made us so.
It’s partially due to experience…my son started Science only at P3 and it was an uphill task learning how to answer those open-ended questions and eliminating in MCQ section.
Since there is a simpler version at P1/2, why not introduce ? It’s simple, non-stress and fun…for eg colouring non-living things and circling the living things in the picture. -

Mine is heng heng for round 1.. Round 2 sure no chance one lah.. I know mr boy well...
Anyway, the class has done really well this year and looking at the results alone (even before the GEPpers move out), I'm sure quite a handful will be moving to the top class.

Dd class is 94.
Hope that she can remain in her class for next yr. :xedfingers: -

I hope my boy can remain in his class too...but don't think chances are high, unless most of his classmates have roughly the same marks. Well, if he doesn't make it to same class, it might be a blessing too...that he has to work harder, be serious and WAKE UP :rant:Dd class is 94.
Hope that she can remain in her class for next yr. :xedfingers: -
Happy Mama:
Just hope mine can remain in the same class and that's good enuf...his CL results were a little disappointing again  ...anyway, how U P3 moms/dads find the CL paper especially the Compre section?drickymummy:

Hopefully his sci can help to pull up overall results now...

Just called the school abt the P3 swim fest… ds had 4 yrs of swimming experience but had never taken a local swimming award test cos his sch uses an American system …due to this reason when I signed up I put down as can swim but no certs. He was assigned to a beginner’s gr with another boy who happened to be in his same swimming sch and also had passed all 8 stages of their previous swim program. DS said coach told them there is nothing much to teach them since the 2 boys knows everything…they spend most of their time chatting by the pool after theyr required laps… According to sch, coaches are supposed to access the kids and assign them to appropriate groups… Hope fully they will do it today… otherwise, such a waste of time …my fear is more of safety part when there is too many kids in the pool and not enuf supervision…

Hi drickymummy, not to worry. It is relatively safe and quite systematic as the group size is max 10, and each group will be taken care of by the parent volunteer or teacher.
