HAST results could be used to select the 200+ for second round activity and interview.

Maybe in previous years the NJC gave out COs to GEPpers and many turned them down in favour of RI/HCI etc. That's why this year they decided not to give COS to them.

:goodpost: I agree. They do not want to waste their limited COs. They have ard 2-3 years DSA experience and it must have been an obvious trend. The probability of a mainstreamer exercising the CO is much higher.

I'm sure your DS will get into RI, and it is the top school. Looks like Hast Test result was not what NJC was looking for.
:thankyou: All the best to your DS in the PSLE results too.

Or further breakdown DSA via sports or aesthetics.

Why don't you start a thread for DSA via Sports and Aesthetics? I'm sure there'll be interest there.

            Agree with jtoh 😉

is there a restriction to withdrawing from cca if the kid join band at P1 (since schools need to invest time to coach these students from scratch).

Whew! then being a GEPper, DS2 sure is lucky to get it.

Is there a cutoff time for joining CCA? DS will be in P4 by the time we return to Singapore. Would it be too late to join CCA for DSA?

                    Agree with jtoh 😉[/quote]Dear All,

Our efficient class monitor has done the move for us and renamed this thread under DSA via asthetics route.

I hope more parents who have experienced this will come here to share their experience with us. Eg. audition, etc....

BTW, I kaypoh and read through some of the requirements, usually required to produce P4 - P6 results as well.

In my kids' case, there are quite a no. of band members but not all will get to perform in SYF. They are split into A and B team. A team will join SYF. They are judge based on attendance, behaviour and potential. So kids in A team usually will stay on.

I've also heard of kids leaving after 2-3 years in the band, there is no restriction. I assume if the child is involved in SYF, the conductor would prefer them to continue.

P4 is fine, although it depends on which sport/aesthetic you're looking at. For DSA they're more interested in the achievements you have attained in the sport/aesthetic. So if you're a national athelete, swimmer, gymnast with impressive medals you can try. Similarly if you start late in certain aesthetics but are able to attain the minimum criteria, you're fine.
