      Hi all,

Do you know whether is there any specific type of white shoe to avoid? I plan to buy my DS’s shoe at any of the BATA shop. Any white socks will do right?

Oh ok that's great, then I can avoid the crowd in the school for books & uniform. 🙂

BTW, will you be getting everything on the booklist? It seems like there is a lot of things to buy.

I will bring her to Bibi & Baba to try out, hence I think we can order/purchase from there. Ok, maybe I will order the name tags only during orientation.

Hi i3mum, when you purchase the uniforms at Bibi & Baba @ Shaw Centre, they will provide you an order form for the name tag. According to the shop staff, the name tag will be given to your child during first few days of school. 😄

Can we just buy school related items from the booklist and then buy the common books and stuff from Popular bookshop?

That used to be the convention
                  Now ( from 2011) from P3- P6 they dont have A, B, C, D...
                  They have I1, I2, I3...
                  and C1, C2, C3...
The GEP class will be R1, R2

So which ones are considered the better class? I or C?

How different are the classes conducted between I and C?

I classes in the above better 1/2 of the level.
R classes for GEP only available from P4 onwards.

From what I gathered from the teacher during the brief, based on the results the kids are divided into 2 groups. Say that year 330 kids, top 165 kids will be in I classes and other other 165 in C classes.
Next the 165 are randomly allocated into the 4 different classes in their respective I and C. So that there is a mixture of levels in all the I classes and C classes.

Note, the kids may or may not stay in their classes for MT. Say a I-1 kid may attend MT in I-3 or C-3 depending on his MT result. Also a C-3 kid may also comes to I-1 to study MT.

Plus there is no standard position and class positioning available in the report book only class allocation for next year, reason so that they kid do not feel pressurized/demoralised.
