You are lucky to have an understanding boss! Good arrangement.oh.. just saw this thread! dd will be doing PSLE in 2012 too!! and my biggest move is I got my blessings from my boss to allow me to work part-time next year!! :rahrah:
So i will have more time to spend with my girls.. ya, planning what are the good enrichment classes.. currently she is having private tuition. I hope I will be there to provide 'needs' and not to stress out my daughter

SA2 results will be out after this week's exam. Review weak areas and work on them to prepare for PSLE 2012 which is less than 11 months from now. All the best in SA2 results.

Yup, SA2 results are out. Have to work doubly hard to achieve better results starting from Nov. Too late to do so when school reopens. Many parents with kids going to P6 going Popular now...including yours truly bcos desperate. -

Janet... if I remember correctly, the thread you created was recently merged with VKS2010's \"2012 PSLE Discussions and Strategy\" thread.
No wonder I can't find it lah. It was merged. I prefer to find threads under the respective section like P5, P6. Easier to find, -
hi all
Now that they are in P6, will you reckon it’s a good idea to teach ahead before they are taught in school? cos usually I prefer the kids to be taught in school and tuition / enrichment is more for them to do revision or ask any questions if they catch in class…
But now that they are in P6, is it a good idea for them to know before they lesson? perhaps they will absorb faster and more time to revise and practise for the exam… especially for subjects like Math.

I think it’s better to start earlier so there’s more time for revision.
However, kids might also get restless in class as they already know the work. My cousin’s kid refuses to do what the teacher says because he already know all the work.
I guess no method is good for all. Just depending on which suits your child better. -

I do not recommend the teaching of P6 topics these holidays. Rather i may look through the P6 SA1 and prelim papers ( section C) and ask the kids to work on the topics that were taught in P5. Usually the questions found in P6 SA1 and prelim papers are quite challenging. If they can manage to solve all the P5 questions, then next year they are left with only the P6 topics like area and circumference of circles and speed to focus on. JMHO.hi all

I suggest to focus on current weaknesses during this holidays before loading more new stuff. If the child could overcome his or her weaknesses, his or her confidence and motivation will increase and thus easier to teach new stuff.

Hi alng/piggylalala,
This Nov/Dec is a great time to buck up. No point loading new stuff especially if child has prob with present load. I see this time as opportunity to revise and strengthen. The exam is over...I have given my son a fair bit of enjoyment right after. Now is the time to buck up, with some fun in between.
