Last time I filled in 1 only for DS, the other 2 I left it blank...felinej:
Registration form indicates at least 3 choices of school. Errrm... Does it mean we cannot indicate only 1 or 2?
anything to stop you from putting down all 3 choices to be identical one ?

I think is okay to put in only 1 or 2 as last time I put in only 2 choices for my elder DS , so this time for my younger DS, I will only put in 1 choice... :rahrah: -

you are absolutely right about bad weather - sure very very wet if have to walk from Gate A to MRT station, and when it floods at Queen's Road and Prince Road - habis! inaccessible !Went to recce NYPS and check out travelling and walking time by public transport. Quite a fair bit of walking from Farrer MRT station I must say. And if bad weather confirm will be drench.
NHPS and HPPS easier route from where I am located. DD dont like HPPS so we are down to NHPS or NYPS. Will decide after Sat's briefing........ -

Hi Jtoh,PiggyLalala:
ds2 was selected for GEP. We did not expect it as he did not show any clear potiential. I am worried as to whether he can cope with the demand of the course. Anyone who has come across similar case, where the child does not show clear potential fr P1 to P3 but survive and doing well in the GEP? Ds2 did not go for any GEP training classes. He did not join any maths enrichment too.
Have faith and confidence in your son. If he got in on his own ability, he should be able to cope with the GEP programme academically. What you need is to give him lots of moral support and encouragement so that he's mentally and emotionally prepared for the changes in environment, friends and pace of the programme.
You'll find that the teachers and MOE emphasise a lot on the attitude of the GEP student. Some bright students have problems coping with the programme bec they don't have the correct attitude. Sometimes these students were forced to go into GEP by their parents and they languish bec they resist the system.
If your son is keen on the programme and is willing to put in his best effort, half the battle is won.
Thank you for yr sharing. ds2 is a pleasant boy who is rather shy and not very articulate. He is also not very inquisitive. So to me, it seemed like he does not have the common traits of a gep student. I'm sure he has the correct attitude but still I'm worried as to whether he can cope. He is very happy in the mainstream, stressfree and swimming happily in the pond. Hopefully when he is put in the new deep pool, he can still swim and keep his pleasant nature. Having said all that, I would say that ds2 is quite an independent worker. He could be a late developer. Hopefully, his brain is still growing and he gets better and better each year.
