I lifted this paragraph from SJI international's website:Thought I read somewhere that SJI international actually has minimum entry requirement, with PSLE score of around min 235.
Their aim is for IB score of 35-40.
\"For students applying from local schools a PSLE score of 225 points will normally be seen as the minimum entry requirement, although those with a slightly lower score may be considered for admission if they demonstrate a particular talent in areas such as sport, music or art.\" -

And if they can get these students to get IB score of 40 and above in the end it's quite a good achievement right ? -

I think the quote of $1200 - $1500 monthly sch fee for international sch is on the low side. This is about the fee paid for maybe Indian International schs that tend to be lower than the others.
From what I've gathered from frens, HC Intl ~$18,000 annually, SJ Intl >$20,000 annually, UWC and Australian International ~$30,000 annually. I was like :yikes: - cost more than an MBA!!!
I was talking to my family doctor sometime back, and he highly recommended me to send my kids to international schools in future, cos there's less pressure. I was like, where got money...? But he reckoned that once you factor in all the tuition fees that you would need to pay when you attend a local school, it all works out to be the same.... -

My friend also says that the fees to attend local school will work out to be the same as international school so he sent all his 3 children to study in Sydney.Pen88n:

HCI International, ACS Internationl SJI International etc are best considered as ‘private schools’ as far as singaporeans are concerned
they are branded as international in order to attract foreign students who appreciate brand value -
I remember I chanced upon an expat forum here recommending SJI internatiol as an alternative for those who cannot wait for a place at UWC.
They ranked it much higher than ACS international and Hwa Chong International. -
My friend is teaching in an international sch here. The students are all from v well-to-do families. So most of them (except a handful) have a lot of attitude problems. She was even criticised by the students for not wearing designer stuff and not carrying designer bags.

The principal of SJI Intl was from UWC. He's got a good reputation.I remember I chanced upon an expat forum here recommending SJI internatiol as an alternative for those who cannot wait for a place at UWC.
