Wow you are really KSHi Berry,
Oh yes, KS mum here  bought Math/Chinese and CME (civics and moral education) books from popular today.
janet_lee88:
Me too and also all the optional items. To save :moneyflies:Fortunately, subject files are of good quality, so I don't have to buy them again.
BTW how does yr dd fare in her recent SA? Mine only average :nailbite: -
Berry123, her teacher is ms oo. She's a young teacher but v friendly and reassuring. My girl loves her a lot bcos ms oo is a v reassuring teacher. Hopefully the Chinese teacher is also the same.

Hi gskmummy,
Don't worry she will love all her teachers and school too.

Hi Berry,
She did improve a little in Term 4...on the whole average.
This hol, will just do a little every morn to keep her brain working. Can't believe it, she has completed P1 :rahrah: Just a year ago, she was done with K2...how fast time flies.
I compared her pic in Nov last year and now...she looks more matured and lost quite a bit of that cute look...must have been the brain working working hard this year :rotflmao: -

Great to know you love the school. I feel the same. Somehow, there is a certain warmth whe you are in the premises.Berry123:
Just back frm orientation. Love the sch!
How about your dd's form teacher?
When your daughter starts school, she will enjoy the first week of games when they get to one another. Mine came home yakking non-stop every day.
First 2 weeks will be quite a tough stage as they adjust to REAL school. But no worries, they will get the hang of it.
The principal is v animated in her speeches which I deem is a gd thing. Her emphasis that there is no need for tuition teachers n that parents must always be there for the kids makes so much sense.
The Pvs r so supportive n I'm also signin up as one... N so the ij journey begins!! -
Hi Janet
Looking at the booklist , there is only a stellar handwriting book. How do the teachers teach English then? Also under references, did u buy the reference items like dict etc?
Hi gksmummy and all,
Ya the principal is a bit mama drama in that high pitchy at times screechy voice:p. IMO, orientation at hall was a tad too long. She dwell too much on a point I felt… But I guess her enthusiasm could be felt la… And yes, tuition teacher in pri 1… Totally agree -

For an all girls school, I suppose the principal can afford to be a little mama drama. But tend to be a little long-winded.Hi Janet

What is that thing about tuition ? :?
Teachers use story books to teach grammar/vocab. The girls will be using worksheets to learn stuff like a/an/the, adjectives, demonstrative pronouns etc etc. There is a reference book you'll find in book list under 'optional'. I have it, but it's under utilized. :moneyflies: -
Well she mentioned that the parents are the best tutors that children can hv therefore just save the $$ n be our own tutors for the time being.

If parents can afford the time to coach, of course that is the best. As a SAHM, I do try to teach my daughter but hubby teaches her Maths.
There is EL and CL spelling every week. So other than the 2-3 days learning spelling, nothing much can be done especially if girls sleep early at night. -
Thanks Janet.
I went into other schools’ booklist and some seem super ks. In Chong Fu pri, booklist for maths include Visible thinking! Isn’t that assessment book? And they made it compulsory.
No time for other things beside spelling? Oh dear! I m contemplating real hard to go on sabbatical leave next year to coach dd. Just can’t imagine coming back at 7 plus or 8 and she’s gonna sleep by 9.
Next year’s going to be lots of adjustments for us parents too w dd going pri 1.
Anyway I like dd’s teacher- mrs lee. She looks v kind and experienced and calm:)
