No choice, I have 3 kids...can you imagine if I get them only on Fri........a bb, an impatient DS and distracted DD1......in the crowded area......I think I will :faint: :faint: :faint:
At least now I can get the books while the older ones are in kindy, less stress :boogie: -

Wat pencils are u letting her take to school? The mechanical ones or the non mechanics.. Do they hv to bring both markers n color pencils to school? And wat about crayons? No need? I m thinking of letting her bring five normal pencils to school so that she don't need to sharpen in school...
I'm getting her the normal 2B pencils, becos school wants them to use 2B pencils. I'm trying to get her the ones with groves.
I do have markers and crayons at home, so if she needs them for art, I will let her bring the old set. As for colour pencils, will get her a 24 set, the one at home is forty-eight, think too many and too heavy.
DD1 loves to sharpen, so will let her do it, I will just let her have three and get the pencil caps, so that the pencil case will not get dirty. -

I will put some in my haversack, and divide the rest into 2 bags. Plus put a book in a small bag for bb. She loves to carry shopping stuff. Hope she will not tun out to be shopaholic later :rotflmao: -
Pencil caps is a good idea provided DD cover it after use… Might buy it also…

I know where the school is coming from as well. It's inevitable that organisation will look at gain and loses but education is more than that, it's takes a longer time to see the fruits. Sometimes when a child cannot cope for whatever reasons, the school has to see that it's not a loss but a process. I think, even if a child only learn whatever CCA for a year, the child will benefit too. I know it's difficult for a school to justify budget, resources just on the basis that a child will benefit and not see any medals or at least the completion of the course. Of course in the case of the band / Chinese orchestra, if someone was to drop out, might be difficult to find replacement, but can be resolved.I understand from schools' point of view why they don't allow pupils to quit CCAs easily. A relative of mine, who is a retired teacher, told me that for some CCAs, eg Chinese Orchestra, they spent a lot of time, effort and money to train the pupils, so it's a waste of time, effort and money when pupils quit, especially if they are in the midst of preparing for competitions or performances. She advised pupils to make a wise choice and then be prepared to be committed to it.
So I'll probably advise DD to choose something that she enjoys and hopefully won't take too much time, eg art club cos she loves drawing.
I'm on team DD1. Maybe it's better for DD1 to find a CCA that can easily find replacements or not competitive. if she needs to put less energy in it, I will not need to put on my \"battle gear\"
