I understand that SJI’s IP program leads to International Beacurelatte diploma NOT A levels.
That brings the question, International Beacurelatte Diploma vs A levels, how do we compare IB vs A levels, in terms of ciriculum and child development as well as admission to Universities. Do we short change out child in any way when going into this relatively "new" program in Singapore ?
I didnt see much discussion on this topic. Can somebody who have analysed or know the difference, enlighten ? -
IB vs \"A\" level

Anyway, I advocate IB. 'A' -level has been too stifled, too academic and produce narrow-minded view. IB's broad-based curriculum will benefit our students in the long run. I like that IB has a lot of oral presentations, this is a very essential skill that is so lacking in many Singapore students.
Anyway, both SJI and ACS (I) only admit high-ability students to IB programme that goes to show IB is not an easy track as it requires to excel in all areas not only academic. A lot of hard work and self-discipline are required.
I think in no time, the A-list schools will offer IB as it becomes more popular.
Personally, if an oversea-university degree is desired, then IB wld be a better fit. -
Hi,
Does anyone know how we can check our sons’ cca points or cip hours? It’s not stated in their report books. Thanks. -

My son actually knows his CIP points. He told me today. The school showed them a list recording all their past CIP points so that they can check.Hi,

Thanks Dnls_mum. My son did tell me earlier that his teacher showed them the record but so much was missing in his. It was stated that he only has 1 CIP hr. The old newspaper collection cip that they carried out at tiong bahru was also not recorded. Among other things, he also helped out during the open house, and the hrs was also not recorded. I thought there would be some kind of print out so that parents can help to monitor over the 4 years. -

Oh dear! My son says he has 80+. Each time they take part in an activity, they need to let the teacher IC take their attendance and record the CIP. If they just attend without ensuring that their attendance is taken, there will be no record

Hi, anyone knows the fastest / shortest route to get to SJI from Yishun via public transport? Heard there’s a direct bus - 855 that goes from Yishun Bus Interchange to SJI with a duration of 30mins. Is that true? Tks in advance.
