      Hi,

Finally, the gals got their report book today. Hope everyone is happy with their achievements. Well done! :boogie:

Heard from DDs about the change in the sch's streaming process next yr. Good news for the P1 this yr.....No streaming for them! :rahrah:

Just curious, are the P1 gals allocated to the same P2 classes next yr?

      Hi Tink.

Yeah, I saw my girl's report card and I'm very proud of her.

Yeah, good that streaming only commences on P2. Gives them more room to work on their 3 core subjects.

My girl is going to the same class for P2. I'm not sure about the rest

      Hi fmastuki,
Great to \"see\" you back here again after so long. Is your DD coping with her bus ride?

Congrats to your DD on her achievement. You ought to be proud of her. :rahrah:

Yes, I think it's great that the kids are not streamed in P1. Afterall, it's a year where there are so many adjustments to be made plus having to adapt to a new enviroment.

Good to hear that your DD is allocated to the same P2 class. Hope most of her friends are with her too. 😉

Yay, got the report book today and yes, no streaming for p1 this year. I think it was a last minute changed cos the teacher used ink to write over p2-h( computer typed) to p2-rp. The report was very detailed with all subjects taken and summary of overall p1 level results in breakdown of mean, min and max marks. It definetely gave a gauge on how well ur gal has done and what are the weaker subjects. I was surprised someone can score 100 marks on Tamil. In addition, the teacher also commented on personal holistic growth like integrity and etc. kudos to the teachers for their hardworks.

Counting down to holidays now where we can all sleep late…
I hope everyone is happy with their gals results.

            Hi michyms,

            :thankyou:
Do keep us posted on any new changes you find out from the P1 orientation.

I agree....only take up a CCA if the child is interested; otherwise, it'll become a chore. However, having said that, some kids do take up CCA with the view of using that CCA for Sec Sch DSA (Direct sch admission) purposes in P6. A few MCS P6 gals got DSA offers thru netball, dance, R Gym etc
Tinkerbelle,it would be quite stressful to take up a CCA for the sake of direct school admission. If the child doesn't manage to get a place through this, then she would feel rather disappointed especially since she would have invested alot of time and effort into it?

                Hi LLX04,
Yes, I agree with you that the sch's report book is really in detail. With all the mean, min & max marks, we can see if our DDs are keeping up with the class or cohort average.

Congrats ....your DD must have done very well to be allocated to 2H before the change in streaming process was announced. 2H is the current top P2 class. :ugogirl: Is your DD in P1 rp?

That's true....every year, many students do get disappointed when they don't get selected for DSA with their CCA. To use CCA for DSA purposes, the student has to excel in that CCA/Sport, winning awards in zonal or national competitions. Definitely not an easy feat. I seriously applaude those who made it through for their commitment. :salute:

                    Hi michyms,
Yes, D-Day will be here next Thursday. 😓
DD is still ok now but the tension is definitely building up as the day draws closer. :nailbite:

                        Hi Tinkerbelle,

Do the report books state the ranking position of the children in the class and/or cohort? Are there any recognition or awards for children who top their class/cohorts, achieved biggest improvements and etc?

                        Thanks
