At the end of the day, PSLE T-scores are just numbers. When you get to secondary school, nobody cares about those 3 digits anymore. Everyone starts from a brand new slate.

exactly!! but coz our S1 streaming is such a BIG deal, everyone thinks otherwise!!!

But then again, the 3-digit numbers also determines whether u will get the scholarship, 3rd lang and dunno what else....

That's true. But for majority of GEPpers, they should have no problems scoring at least 250 so 3rd lang is not an issue. And if they don't screw up EESIS isn't a problem either.
Wat's EESIS? :scratchhead:

You just need low 250+ to do third lang. Shoudn't be a problem for your dd, no?

hope so! she's not one of the top students. all subj abv 80s. math is her weakest link.

        All subjects >80% is good!

            Hi mummies,

Asking on behalf of a fren… For those who registered GEP with Nan Hua and has a younger child going p1 next year, what’s the school’s stand on this? Put on waitlist or the Principal will absorb them? Fren told me that there are a number of unsuccessful PVs already on the waitlist.

Thanks! No priority? I wonder if other GEP schools will have stronger enthusiasm in absorbing the younger siblings of GEPpers

I was told depend on availability. If that year's cohort is full, it is full. There isn't much the school can do. Although I believe there is probably some sort of 'priority' in the event a vacancy arises. Then again, which GEPer sibling is the school going to prioritise if demand exceed supply? Luck plays a part too, I guess

I was just told nyps' 2011 P1 classes have >30 students in each class. Heard the principal was very kind to take in all the unsuccessful PVs last year. Not sure if it's the same practice this year. I guess the school has some flexibility as to whether to take in extra students.

I would also think siblings of existing GEPpers should be given priority, for the family's logistics convenience
Yes, many NYPS's P1 classes will have more than 30 students next year, with one class with 33 students. However, the school does not guarantee a place for younger siblings of GEPpers as there is always a long waiting list for all levels.

Hi everyone! May I ask if GEP students are sent overseas for knowledge-enrichment programmes, exchange programmes, cross-boundary competitions or other excursions during their 3-year stint in GEP? If so, how do these impact on their GEP stint?
