For science, after buying a few different publishers and after working through them with my kids: I find that the most important thing is that your child and you yourself must like or love to work on them or as references. If not, as what the above parents had mentioned, they'll be white elephants.

So nowadays, I only read the comments by the parents on the books they recommended. Then will flipped through these books at popular before deciding whether me or my child will like to use them before grabbing them to the counter.

Last two years, I ended up with a lot of books half done or some even not touch. So this year, need to be wiser else out budget. 😉

          Thanks champion for ur encouragement.

Yah the both teachers@work books can be reference not for doing.but sometimes I think this kind of qns come for exams? Why do we need to waste our time?

Yup the forg's qns ur qn is right. But I remember that its help the egg to trap heat from sun (incubate the egg) and defend the enemies as slippery. And remeber notrish for embrio. But now I forgot where I saw these answers.
I wanted to make sure but couldn't find. One qn from conquer book.

I have to check the PSLE qns so that we know these qns are useful or not.
I found the answer in the conquer book,
It protects the eggs against predators.
It lets the sun's rays through to warm the deveopling eggs.

          Can anyone help me?
Does it nourish to the embryo?

Before my son went to P3 and started Science...I literally bought all the boxed sets of Science. 'Everything you need to know' by Patricia Chan, Science Companion by Renee Chong and one more title by Helen Lee. Oh yes, Science Booster (colourful pic) also. Some became white elephants and dare not say anything to hubby...really learnt things the hard way :moneyflies:

This site/thread offers a great deal of help for parents like myself who do not have that much time like before to check out latest titles...some not that fantastic but others like 'FAQ' are great.
(Hubby used to work from home...sometimes he would work at Mac while I shop at Giant or Pop)...not anymore 😢

                      Hello atrecord,
My child does not use this for her school but recently I have purchased a copy of this series and shared in the following thread:-
                      http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=19568&start=1270

I think it is a good idea that your DD's school is using that as part of the school syllabus as the Science Text books and Activity books are really \"way too pathetic\" and insufficient to enchance the Science learning 😉
