Hi, parents of P1 2012. If you would like to sell the Houghton Mifflin books, I have two sets to let go. The details of the books are:

Emmm ... I don't know le as I do not have another twin studying in another class ๐Ÿ˜‰ ... But frankly speaking I don't think they were taught anything extra.. Maybe some lessons were carried out in a faster phase.. :scratchhead:

If I am not mistaken, the tingxie list is different. That's for P2 so I'm not sure about upper primary.

there is no difference in tingxie list or spelling list. all materials given to the kids are the same. like what vlim said, lessons may be conducted on a faster pace. also, the way lessons are conducted can be different, more demanding and challenging i should say. for instance for english spelling, normal class will just do normal spelling (ie. teacher reads out the words/ phrases and the kids write them out) but for the best class, the teacher does not read out the words/phrases but flashes on screen sentences with blanks. the kids are expected to fill in the blanks with the spelling words they have learnt. so the kids are expected to know how to spell the words as well as when to use it in context. it may vary for different levels and teachers.

                    Hi 7788,

I think for this part, they do that in mixed ability classes too. Eg. they were learning those put off, put out,etc as part of spelling list.... iso spelling, they were given sentences with blanks and they have to fill in the blanks with the correct words.

Are the GEP papers marked by their own school teachers?

Wouldnโ€™t any school want to keep as many good students as they can instead of letting the good ones being transferred out due to GEP?
