      Hi,dagong99,

can share more about bpps, i am quite new to the school, only know that the principal is 3 years old with the school...... and is quite \"ON\"...........but heard some parents of older batch prefer the ex......of late quite high staff turnover .... dont know how true.....(heard from a old cleaner in the school).

I had heard about the turnover of the teachers and lots of people prefer the ex... Their standard and popular in bukit panjang area are also going down... 🤷

My DS1 is P6 this year, now waiting for his PSLE results. DS2 is P3 this year but is going to change school as he opts to go GEP. However, we only choose 1 GEP school instead of 3, so if the school does not have enough places, we will still keep DS2 in BPPS & opt out of GEP since BPPS will groom those in the top 3 classes. My DS1 is a good example. He is in the best class & among the top few, so he was given ample opportunities to participate in most academic based competitions, seminars, contests, learning journeys, etc. That's why we are a bit hesistant in sending my DS2 to GEP as he will then be a \"small fish in the big ocean\", so opportunities for him maybe lesser as he will need to compete with the rest of the GEP students, thereby limiting his exposure. If your kid is basically good in studies, BPPS is a good choice as they will really \"push\" the \"good\" ones to their fullest potential. Another thing we like about BPPS is that it really \"drill\" them for PSLE, especially if your kid is in P5 & P6. Overall, we like the school very much. As for their standard, this year the P6's prelim results are very good, heard from DS1, quite a few got 270 to 280+. But then we still need to see the actual PSLE results on this coming thursday ....

The principal was previously from Gan Eng Seng Pri if I didn't remember wrongly. Actually I prefer the current principal. As for the staff turnover, I think is common and we may not know, some of the turnover maybe due to MOE transfer or other personal reasons, etc. There are also some teachers who had been with the school for many years. I was there last Friday during the Prize Giving Ceremony and there were quite a number of staff working there for more than 10 years, receiving their long service award. One of my ex-classmates there is a good example.

          hi, mummy of 3,,,,

my dd is in 1G..............i dont have the timetable yet... heard from my neighbour kids , they have 2 days of PE.....i just bought 2 set each......but
now i am also not too sure 2 sets pe and uniform are enough cos our dds have to change back to uniform after pe.......kind of troublesome.........

perhaps,,,, dagong99 can share how many sets are enough........

while doing PV in the school, have spoken to 2 male chinese teachers indeed v friendly....

wonder if 1G chinese teacher is also a MALE.....
2 sets should be fine if your kid does not \"sweat\" a lot and you do washing once a week. Anyway, the kids grow very fast, so you may not know, you need to buy again by year end 😄

I bought 3 sets uniform and 2 set PE Attire.

I get to know a mother from my gals class (She has a elder gal in the school (P5 next yr).
Actually P2 they will start to stream the kids into gd classes.
                  P3 stream again.

I was quite shock on the Chinese streaming in 3rd term.
And they start HCL so early.

But like some mummies say is gd to start early.
                  Their foundation will be there.

Hope can get to know more mummies on the first few days
                  of school.

Just to share, some of the teachers are also very kind & generous. I still remember when my DS2 was in P1, his teacher promised them any one who got > 95 in any subject will get a free Happy Meal sponsored by her. I still remember that I told him I could provide the same but DS2 said it's different if he got it from his teacher. It's the thought & motivation that counts. Same happened this year with his P3 form teacher. She awarded her pupils with tokens out of her own initative & resources if they do well. And when his form teacher knew that he's going to transfer school, she actually bought a small gift together with a card for him. It was a pleasant surprise & I was very touched & sad at the same time.

Good to start early, esp if your kids don't speak mandarin at home.

                        Hi Everyone…

Can I ask for advice on enrollment here?

We currently reside with my parents, just beside BPPS, but come the time our flat is ready 2015, it will be when we have to enroll my daughter in a primary school.

Would we still be able to enroll my daughter in BPPS based on proxy?
Can I declare my parents as the primary care giver so my daughter has a place in the school?
Do we need to start volunteering now?
Does her being in a childcare near the school play a part in the application?
