Hi bluebellas,
I will photocopy the day my children bring back the report book/assessment card because they will need to return it to the FT the foillowing day. It has been a standard practise since my girl started P1 in 2009. So for me, it has become my SOP
As you are first time dealing with P1 report, it is understandable that you may still not be familiar with the system. As you are working late, you can get family members to help out with the photocopying. Alternatively, you can ask the FT for an extra day.
Good luck! -
Hi all,
Not sure how many of you sharing the same feeling about the new school time. I am a bit concern about kids having to have lunch at school 4 out of 5 days. The school only allocates 30 minutes for lunch hour and given that half of the school will be having lunch at the same 30 minutes, how does the school help the lower primary (especially P1 and P2) kids to get their meal and complete withtin the short time. I foresee that most of the time will be wasted for queuing and only left very little time to eat. I once ask DS if the canteen is crowded at lunch time, he told me of course since many upper level kids have CCA or enrichment class. He could not finish his pack lunch most of the time let along if he has to decide what to eat, queue and then eat:-(. Also does the school canteen has enough table and chair to house half the school students at one time? DS told me sometime he can not find place to sit at the canteen. I intend to write to the school to ask for clear clarification to my concerns. For parents who are going to the P1 orientation next week, if you share the same concern for your little one, please voice it out to the school as well. Thank you. -
Hi,
I’m a new parent of TGPS. This morning my DS and I went for the P1 orientation. After we came back, then I realised I did not order any name tags. Is there any parent here know whether I have missed out anything? Or when shall I order the name tags? Thank you -
Hi Isaliz,
Welcome to the club. I don’t think you need to order name tags. I did not order when my DS was P1. When we went to buy the uniforms, the name tags were ready for us to purchase. We bought the uniforms and books during the last week of December. It seems they have prepared it for all kids. So you don’t have to worry. -
Hi rejoice137,
Thank you for your reply. We’ve already purchased the uniform yesterday, but the uniform provider never mention about the name tags.(and I forgot to ask about it) So don’t know whether wait until the school open then my DS will receive the name tags from the school? -
Hi Isaliz,
May be the name tags were not ready yet. You can go there again in Dec to make the purchase. Your DS will need to wear his uniform with his name tags sew on the first day as most kids will have that. That will make him more at home when he is the same as the rest of kids. I am sure they will have the name tags ready by before school starts. If not, you can call up the uniform provider (in the information you received from the school) to see when you can purchase them. -
Hi Isaliz,
Welcome onboard to TGPS forum and your DS to the TGPS family.
From my 2 children experienced, the uniform vendor will usually have the name tag when the P1 parents purchased the school uniforms. AS suggested by Rejoice, you can either go back to the uniform vendor and check with them on this or call the vendor to make the enruiry.
All the best and wishing you a happy holiday !!
cheers,
astee -
Hi Isaliz,
Like you, we were not informed about the name tags when we purchased the uniforms too. Luckily for this forum, otherwise we would never have known. Guess we just have to return and buy it next month. I will also update this forum if I happen to get it. -
Hi francoise,
I met my mum’s fren whose grandson also going to TGPS next year. She told me she has purchased the name tags on the orientation day. But the stall was at one corner and we did not notice it. So yes, we need to go back and buy. It was so confused. -
Anyone here has children taking the school bus?
