LCentral Discussion

Hi hi,
I am planning to put my boy into LC @ TB as he is starting in P1 next year. Currently he is in Kumon for english and i do not see any improvement in his reading as teacher keep getting him to repeat and repeat. As such, decided to pull him out and join LC. Can any parent share with me your experience?? -
Anyone have any feedpack for LCentral Tiong Bahru for their Primary English? Looking at P3 English next year.

Hi
LCentral more for young children? My child is going to P1 next yr and I saw a lot of kids going into the branch at Civic Centre.
Pls give some feedbk. My kid is currently attending Zoophonics but hoping to change due to scheduling. Will Lcentral be gd at preparing kids for P1? -
Hi
My son previously also from zoo phonics and till aug i transfer him to lcentral.
i feel that lcentral focus more on reading which i can see from my son improvement. -
Do they require that the child needs to be able to write first?

My personal observation based on my K2 who joined in June for their lift off. She will be doing success 1 next year.Hi

Her reading has improved significantly. She is able to read the lcentral comprehension passage by herself independently. Usually 2 full pages.
I observed that there are alot of compre exercise (eg. read the passage, answer the questions which also brings about vocabulary exposure). Not so on grammar or compo writing.
For primary program, they focus on such items compo, compre, grammar, etc... I've 2 kids in their primary program. Didn't see much results improvement during this year's results. However one observation is that there are some improvement in my P4 though not significant at this stage. Thought of pulling out but my P4 said she wants to continue. One thing for sure is that it is a academic program. I also know of other parents who put their kids for primary program and benefitted. So it's probably a case by case. I feel that sometimes it also depends on the exam structure of the respective school, etc... In our case, still hanging on but during the hols, we are going to let them practise more on assessment papers. -
Hi,
May I ask parents with children in Ang Mo Kio’s LCentral:
1) Is the programme effective?
2) How are the teachers at Ang Mo Kio branch?
3) Is there anyone at Ang Mo Kio LCentral who is willing to pm me your child’s particulars for the referral discount if I decide to sign up?
I am thinking of signing up my N2 (next year K1) boy in this programme, but am still undecided. Many thanks. -
Jgmum,
have pm you abt the referral. My gal who will be in K2 next yr joined when she was in N2. Can read fluently now. She’s now in PFS to prep for P1 where she’s doing spelling & compre & a bit of writing. But she’s not in AMK brh.
