My DD’s score is 259+3 but her friend’s score is 260+2. If both of them put NYGH as their first choice, who will have a greater chance of entering that school?

        2. For CHS, must take HCL for sec 1 since it is a SAP school. Not too sure about sec 2.

It is compulsory to do Chinese (unless MOE-approved exemption - in which place cannot apply under S1 posting anyway, system will reject). But it is not compulsory to do HCL. As in, it doesn't mean that if it's a SAP school, it is compulsory to do HCL. My dd was from SNGS and did not do HMT. She wasn't even eligible to do HCL in secondary.

This is strange, because my ds' teacher told them must take HCL in Sec 1 in CHS. Could it be that if you are eligible to take HCL, then in a SAP school, you must take. She did mentioned that later on you can drop in year2 or 3.

All would want to get rid of doing Chinese by Sec school if they can. And extra points for JC as long as the child gets D7, leh. So why not do HCL?!

              Hi

I have 2 questions, hope someone can help.

              Question 1
My DS scored 256, DSA to ACS(I). So no S1 posting form. Only able to choose 3rd language.
What is the changes appeal to RI and HCI?

              Question 2
My DS scored 256, no DSA. S1 form on hand.
Can I put ACS(I) as 1st choice and apply to RI via supp. intake?

The reason is that I know 256 is below the COP of RI, putting RI as 1st choice is a waste, so put ASC(I) as 1st choice is safer, but I still want to try RI as what many students and parents are going to do.

              Anyone can help?

              Thank you

i was looking at S1 form, a bit confused on instruction re choice of 3rd language, can I put all choices from category 3 for eg. Japanese as 1st followed by German and French ? Or my 2nd and 3rd choice have to come from Category 1 and 2 ?

                Thanks for helping !
To my understanding, the answer is no.

Jap, French and German are under the same cat. You can only choose one language from each cat.

To my understanding, the student wiht 260 will get it.
