      autolycus:
tisha: yes, that is correct β€”Β the MGS girls will be 'exported' after Year 4 to ACS(I); the +100 IP places are purely within ACS(I) from Year 2 going into Year 3.

This is roughly how it works. In Year 1, about 150 students from the overall PSLE intake are placed in IP-track classes. At the beginning of Year 3, this number is increased to about 250.

The nett increase includes movement both ways, as some students may be asked to leave the IP track and go back to the default track, while others will do well enough to be asked to join. Some foreign scholars and others may join the IP track at Year 3 too.

By Year 5, the 250++ male students from the ACS(I) IP track will mostly enter the IBDP. They will be joined by about 200 students (some male, some female), including perhaps up to 90-100 from MGS once the MGS IP track begins to produce output, and also O-level students from the ACS schools if they've done well enough. The estimated max capacity of ACS(I) Year 5 is close to 480, which is stretching resources quite a bit, but not fatally. πŸ™‚

Does this make sense? Yeah, it's complicated...

:thankyou: very much autolycus. True, it is complicated, but your explaination has made it crystal clear. πŸ˜„

Hi autolycus, what about GEP students with score of 252-253, who qualified for EEEIS/GE Grant, will they be put in the O level GE class or in the IP section ?

ngbrdad: most likely the IP section, unless 252-253 doesn't get you into the top 60+ places in the GEP/IP classes β€” that's unlikely but you never know... πŸ™‚

              Hi ngbrdad,

A current ACSI boy wrote on another thread that all GEP boys and top scoring mainstream boys will go into the GEP classes. I think the GEP classes are all IP. http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?f=48&t=28579

From their website there is at least a GEP class in the O level section.
Even during GE branch talk they mentioned the same thing.

Oh I see. Why would they have a GEP class in the O level section? I would assume that all the GE boys would want to go IP.

I remember reading sometime ago that ACSI would be doing away with its SBGE programme leading up to the O levels. Have they started doing away with it?

Whatever info I have is from their site and GE briefing at Jan this year.
But it make sense for them to put the GE boys in the IP section.

                      Yes it does.

Because there are a lot of slack GEP boys who score under the non-GEP intake, actually. πŸ˜„
