Hi, my dd scores 248. SNGS is her dream school but their cop is 249. Was wondering if we shd try as 1st choice n Anderson as 2nd? I was thinking if its too risky coz we might lose our chance w Anderson too if she fails to get into SNGS. Please advice. Thank you!

School allocation is by merit of the kid. If you put SNGS as 1st choice, if she did not get it, her 2nd choice Anserson will come into play. There is no jeopardizing of your chance in Anderson just becos you put SNGS as your 1st choice!

If SNGS fail, Anderson COP is 245. It is still merit before choice. Your chance is still there.

We are also putting SNGS as first and Anderson as second choice.

Someone enlighten me. Why is everyone talking about appealing when they haven’t even submitted their S1 Central Posting forms yet and the posting results are not out? Aren’t appeals for when you don’t get the school of your choice after posting? I can understand the situation for DSA students who didn’t get any COs and now want to appeal. But why is everyone else talking about appealing?

Chung Cheng High V.S. Tanjong Katong Girls School

knowing their COP is only 2 marks differences, any could recommend me the better one with a good reason? TIA :please:

I personally would prefer Chung Cheng High (Main) for the following reasons:
              1. SAP school so I supposed emphasis on CL / HCL will be more
              2. Affiliation fo NYJC
              3. Immersion programme in Shanghai with Fudan University

This  is just my personal opinion. TKGS is also a very established school, and if you prefer a girls' school, that should be your choice then.

              Hello!
What if my chinese is already okay, just that my english is weak.
Urm... just to clarify how to count CCA hours... because i thought every CCA timing is almost the same but just wonder why a lot of pupils are considering NYCC, brownies, scouts...etc. :? :? :?
I am afriad of whatt CCA i go.
I think the more suitable CCAs are Infocomm Club, Art Club... Ai ya, i am not active one ah, more \"clubbie\". 😆
So, i comfirmed that TKGS have the two, but not sure with CCHM.
Nan Chiau is in my choices too. they have the cca i wanted and have chances to go out and participate a lot of stuffs.
Sorry for all the ramdom questions. Pls reply ASAP. TIA :lovesite:

Really! I really thought that it was based on priority! Meaning if my dd put SNGS as her first choice and she does not get in,she may not get into anderson because others choose it as their 1st choice? And do u think she will stand a chance w the different of 1 point?

COP of SNGS may drop this year, as they may lose some students to Cedar (which is going IP next year). So i'd say give it a shot. My niece joined SNGS Sec and really loves the school.

Posting is based on merit then choice of school. So if your dd doesn't qualify for her first choice school, the computer will consider her for her 2nd choice, then 3rd choice etc and give her a school before they move on to the next student who's ranked after her. All this is clearly spelt out and illustrated in the MOE handbook given to all PSLE students in helping them to make an informed choice for schools.
