yes, i also heard of higher retainees' rate at JC level.Augmum:
At jc level, some have higher retainees' rate as high as up to 10%.
For those deem unsuitable for jc education, they either transfer to poly or told to leave. The latter is a last resort after given another chance to sit for the easier supplementary exam.
wonder under what circumstances / situations would the JCs disallow pupils to retain at JC1.
I shall attempt to answer your query in general as each jc has its own internal policy.
thank u innovate for yr sharing of the above. appreciated. -

She can appeal to as many schools as she likes. Some schools require an administrative fee.Am just wondering if my dd doesn't get into the school of

When she'll be informed of the outcome of her appeal depends on the schools. She may be informed as early as the next day or that afternoon, or they may only inform her when school has started in January. It depends on what she has to offer the school and whether the school has vacancies. -
Thanks for your info. Am hoping don't have to go through the trouble of appealing though. :nailbite:

Hi Jtoh,
My dd got 236. Which girls school shall I choose?
ChIJ (Toa Payoh)/St.Margaret/TKGS.
Thank you in advance. -

The COPs for these schools last year were CHIJ 238, SMSS 239 and TKGS 234. Based on that, your dd's chances of getting into TKGS are good. Of the three schools, which do you prefer? Which one's closer to home and which one's school culture and environment do you prefer? You can read up the secondary school parent's networking forum threads to find out more about each school or ask the parents there for their opinions.Hi Jtoh,

Assuming that you prefer CHIJ and SMSS over TKGS, I would put those two schools as first and second choice, followed by TKGS as 3rd choice. In the event that your dd doesn't get into her first two choices, she should safely get into TKGS. But do put down a safe 4th choice just in case. -
Hi my DS got 244.. He's from SJIJ and is affiliated to SJI.. But we prefer ACSI WITH COP of 245 based on last year's intake.should I take the risk putting ACSI as first choice and what do u think my chances are ? And what do you think my chances will be if I put SJI as my 2nd choice ? What would you do if you were in my place ?
Sorry for so many questions... I'm lost .... -
Hi Elpis
You can try appeal ACSI, 1point likely will go through. -
Since successful placement will only be known on 21 Dec, that means appeal will be from 22 Dec onwards? But we are expected to report to assigned school the next day after announcement, that is on 22 Dec.
