My DD's agg. score is 258+3. Shd she appeal to RGS or NYGH? Which sch does she stand a higher chance? Pls help. :?:

If under S1 posting, 50-50 chance at NYGH. Nobody can tell. RGS does not take +3 into consideration. Why appeal? She already has a DSA CO or under S1?

NYGH's COP last year was 262. RGS's was 260. I'd say the odds are similar because there's minor fluctuations annually, so go for the one you like better.

For the record, I'd like to say that the stereotypes don't always apply (I'm not even sure if they apply generally), and many people unfortunately have very mistaken ideas about what a particular school's students should be like. Very few people managed to correctly guess my alma mater - most people seem to think I'm from RGS (including my JC GP teacher haha). 😂

It's also because of the HMT bonus points. RGS does not take it into consideration so NYGH COP might be slightly higher, but around the same.

This year, I realized more people put RGS as first choice. Why is that so??

I think it has been like that for years. Maybe the same reason why more people choose RI as first choice if their T-score are within 2 points or so.

As a top school, RGS has a longer history than NYGH....RGS is 139 years old and NYGH is 94 years old.

So by this reasoning, the University of Oxford should be better than Cambridge and all the Ivies simply because it was founded earlier. Doesn't make sense to me.

                      Hi everyone,

                      I am new here, but I am not another K.S.P. I am a student…
I want to apply to RGS, so anyone can share some tips and advice?

                      TIA,
                      Bigpotato

Hi Bigpotato, which domain are you looking at? Academics, sports or music?
