Hi all,

i heard that there is a new MOE ruling this year and indicates that students who are successful in DSA WILL NOT be allowed to be transferred to another school.

Any KSP aware of this, and does this imply that students who take up CO cannot appeal to another school?

My daughter score 243+1. Which sch should place at 1St choice? Bt Panjang Govt ; Nanhua High or Cresent Grils. 2010 COP: 243 for all. She is neutral to all sch. Thanks.

Mmmmm....but I heard school is taking in appeal and charging admin fee for appeal??? :scratchhead: If they are not allowed to transfer, shouldn't the school not be accepting appeal??? :scratchhead:

Oh yes, my friend’s 4 choices are CHIJ St.Theresa Convent, Balestier Hill, Geylang Medodist School and Clementi Town Sec Sch. Any advice on these schools?

They're not allowed to appeal to another school. That's the MOE directive. So if the school is accepting appeals it's going against the MOE directive.

I have heard of that MOE ruling too, and have also heard of many DSA COs rushing to their preferred school to submit appeal forms. So how much enforcement of that ruling remains to be seen..... :evil:

Hi Jtoh, hv read a lot in this thread and u hv helped to answer most queries.

I need your help. May i ask if someone has been accepted by NUSH
phase 2 (results of application will be made known 16/12).
Thereafter (21/12)received S1 posting, and decided not to take up NUSH. Does that means the vacancy will be left for those who appeal?
By applying to NUSH,does one lessen the chance of getting the 1st choice of our sch? thank u very much!

Hi tehsusu,

NUSH conducts its admission separately from the S1 Posting so applying to one will not affect your chances in the other. After you receive both results, you can choose which one to accept. But I think there's a time period within which you have to accept NUSH' offer. I can't recall if this is before the S1 Central Posting releases its results. If that's the case you'll have to accept/decline NUSH' offer before knowing the results of your S1 posting. Maybe some NUSH parent can clarify.

NUSH has full discretion over the intake of its students. So whether it releases the new vacancy to those appealing or not is entirely up to the school. In the past NUSH has chosen not to take its full intake of students, choosing only the top students into its fold.
