Ya, I was informed by the other P too…I think currently she teaches mainly the older kids in the new campus. Although verbally she did mention that she will see the kids currently under her care through K1-K2, what happen about the other P leaving does leave me a little bit shaken about my initial confidence in her words….Hi Dec, sure, will definitely update after I visit but they haven't gotten back to me about a suitable date to visit yet. They say probably after their term ends in mid Dec?
If I don't put her in this school, I'm also not sure where I should try. Perhaps the TAra at JP? Even though it is mainly for play but still it is 2h of socialisation with other kids and other adults?
Sean Wife, the other Principal of the school told me the other one left. From what she said, I think she calls everyone up to inform them? You too received the call, is it?
I did what any parent would do, ask her about the teachers who will teach my girl then. She said she has asked 2 more teachers or something. I am not too sure because I haven't seen them and I don't know if these 2 are the same people you are talking about? But I did ask her where did she source for them and she said they are the parents of current kids and used to be teachers so they are trained?
From my viewpoint, I can see some pros and cons of having own kids in the school. The pro is, the teacher must believe in what she is teaching herself. If her own kids are in the school, the school should be good and impt enough for her to place her own kids there. I would trust the school to a certain extent because of this.
However, as a mom myself, i know kids of this age tend to stick to mommy. I wonder if they can teach effectively if their kids need their attention all the time? As I said, these are what I wonder about, so I won't know until I go and take a look myself. The kids may not be in the same class?
About sustainability, yup, it is tough. Hope they can sustain though, and add more choices to this area. I like the idea of the Principal herself being there and teaching too. It is good for her to be directly involved. Now with 2 campuses and the P at the other side, I don't know. sigh.... All was really ideal until one P left.
Buds, thanks for the hugs!
One parent I talk to previously also mention that Summer’s Chinese curriculum could be quite weak, so while I am quite confident of their English/Maths teachings, I think Chinese wise, cannot depend entirely on them. -
Hi, how abt Centre of New Life church? Think they have nursery class too.

Hi all,
I stay in JW St 64. My DD is turning 18 months & going to preschool next year. I’m a FTWM & my mum helps to look after her.
I am thinking of putting her in a CC but the only 2 CCs near me are LSH Safra and MFS JP. I’m in waiting list for both.
Personally, I prefer LSH cos of the activities they have there. But then again, I heard from many people that their curriculum consists of little spelling & writing. For MFS, convenience wise I would prefer the school but I have been there myself & there is only a balcony for the kids if they were to engage in "outdoor activities".
Can any mummy share if your children has been to either schools? -
Hi all…
Initially I was shocked to hear that one of teachers/principal has left, she is one of the reason why i enrolled my son to the sch! but after a chat with another principal… I guess my son is still in good hands. thank god I persevered earlier n didn’t enrol him to any said to b branded Schs. I like the teacher-student ratio at the 11am slot. For sure I know my son will get adequate attention, ESP for the first week. That certainly helped him settled down really quickly. Now he looks forward going to Sch… Even passing by the Blk he will shout "school" school".
I like their campus 2. Still smell "new", bright n spacious. -
I received a letter from Teacher Jit informing us about the change. Now I am having second tots about putting my son there as they seems to be really disorganised now.
Anyone’s kid in Little learner Pioneer? -
Hi Pinkitty. Why do you say that they are disorganized?
-
Hi pin kitty
I also like to know why u think summer is disorganized now...
Btw it seems like they source a lot of help from parents of their students...at the moment, they say they are working with one of the parent who is a Chinese teacher in a primary school to develop the Chinese curriculum...
don't know how long that will take :xedfingers:
With the other p who left, at least one of them can understand Chinese a bit better, but now.....
I know there will be a new teacher joining campus 2 in Jan....saw her before at the open house, young but looks professional, kind of feel quite confident with her around, just hope no more hiccups in their manpower resources... -
Hmm… I guess it’s the overall impression that I gathered due to the communication with them. Actually I had submitted my form to them months back but I did not hear from them regarding my son’s application. So, I emailed them to ask again and the response I received was they did not received my application when I went down personally to the centre to submit. After that, they went back to check and realised oh they did received my application form. Then it took them another month to come back to tell me that oh because I did not submit my payment so I can’t get the morning slot. However, when I was there, the teacher did not collect the money from me, I even confirmed and asked if that’s all I had to submit. Kinda disappointed… but this seems to be my only option of a montessori sch if I want a sch within walking distance from my new place

Seanwife---if we r talking abt the same person, that lady heard to b from Josiah. The principal used to b from eton.
Pinkitty, don't be disappointed. I wanted to enroll my son in the morning slot too but was rejected because the had max up the slots. No choice I had to put him in 11am slot. Blessing in disguise, the class at that time has got only 5 kids.. Teachers have got more attention on each of them.
They didn't take my payment till 1.5weeks aft he started Sch. Coz they r also assessing if your child is ready for shool.
I didn't regret sending him there. Probably like u I have been going half the Singapore n those schools near our vincinity... With the hope to finding the right one.
