I went through first few pages of the Nail IT MCQs. There are explanations on the side of the pages...and students are 'supposed' to cover the answers with the book edge.

However, we can test them by randomly asking few questions. We should be able to figure out from their eyes. My daughter always looks down and don't dare to look at my eyes if she does any mistakes or wrong things.

You are the experienced and dedicated mum. I am sure you can find out.

      Best regards
      HAPPYH

A friend taught me to fill in the answers of the past year papers and test him...tedious on part of the parents but really save time getting him to answer verbally instead. So I am now picking and choosing some of the exam papers to fill in answers.

here's something I created for my kid to revise magnets. It's a mind map of the key points of the topic.

        http://flic.kr/p/aLZG1M

if you want the pdf (it's much easier to read and print out), you can download it here:
        https://www.cx.com/mycx/share/WGbEyRl6EeGhqRICOBubSA/Magnets.pdf

let me know if there are issues in downloading.

I might put in some videos to supplement the mind map, might be interesting. Let me know your thoughts.

WOW cimman! Amazing work here. You actually created it? That is alot of work. :salute: Thank you for sharing. :hugs:

not too much work, once I've decided what to put on the mind map. The graphics took some trawling on the web though.

I've put in a new version with a video on how to determine the polarity of electromagnets. Here's the link:
        https://www.cx.com/mycx/share/7clh2Bn3EeGbXhICOBoDsQ/Magnets.pdf
The video is at the bottom right hand corner of the diagram. You'll have to click on it to activate the video. If you're viewing it on an Android phone, you'll have to get the app: ezPDF Reader to play the video. Just click on the black space once you're in the ezPDF Reader. The free Adobe Reader does not seem to play the video.

I've removed the older version, so the old link won't work anymore.
It seems that you've to sign up to gain access to the site, I would recommend creating a new email account and use that account to sign up, just to prevent spamming.

If anyone has problems downloading, just drop me a PM with your email.

You mean we manually write the answers in the past year papers and let the child read the answers, is it? Then how do we know they really understand how to answer? It may be a simple or stupid question. But i really want to know why do you do that. It is for them to understand how to answer, is it?

I really appreciate all the tips shared by you and all the mummies here.

              Thank you so much.

I dont think this method of testing them on past year topic is going to work, it is pure memorising only…

Yes, manually writing the answers...especially when time is tight nearer the exams, it's difficult to ask kids to finish so many papers...so by filling in the answers, we can verbally go thru with kids.

I cannot be completely hands-off his books or there will be a BIG problem gearing up when term starts...encountered that 2 years ago, can cry. Had to coach my son but mentally I just couldn't do it.

You deserve a break. But don't stress too much. I did not even start copying the answers. Just thinking itself , put me off.....

Today, I asked my daughter to do few pages of Maths. Of course, she did. But she did the same kind of mistakes which she did last week. Very frustating. I really feel helpless. I asked my hubby to go thro' those mistakes with her. The first thing he said is \"VERY TIRED\" Of course, I am also tired after work. But I could not sit like him. Even more frustating.
