any comments on the new chinese assessment 'TOP Chinese Enrichment Prog' written by NTU confucius institute?
Thanks for highlighting this title.

      The insitute has a programme under the same title as well. Interesting.

      I was only focused on getting the books that I want, I did not see this at Bookfest. I shall take a look at the title when I have the time to visit Popular. Lucky I did not buy too many Chinese assessment books, so if this is good, I can still get it with my 20% Pop voucher
I personally feel that this title is not bad. I have browse through the content and what interest me is that the book highlighted the vocabulary words which students might use it wrongly. eg 表达和表示. There is explanation on them so that students can take note and avoid mistakes. The title is available at bookfest but I didn't get them cos I can get them at the same price at popular store using the 20% voucher 🙂

              yes, it is available at popular book store. For the one at Nex Serangoon, they put it at a special corner quite near to the entrance. Not sure other store has special corner for it. If not, got to look for it at the respective shelves.

                  There's one for P6

                  http://i40.tinypic.com/33tqh3q.jpg\">

                  Here's the write-up
                  ➊ Top Chinese Enrichment Programme Primary Chinese 6A/B is based on the latest edition of the Primary School Chinese Curriculum developed by the Ministry of Education, Singapore. It combines the unique pedagogy of the Top Chinese Enrichment Programme of Confucius Institute, NTU, along with input from various sources, to offer a complementary enrichment material that can be used in tandem with the school curriculum.

                  ➋ This book consists of 10 exercises that correspond to the 10 lessons in the school textbook, four integrated revision papers and an item-specific reinforcement practice.

                  Each exercise is made up of four fun and engaging sections: Compare & Contrast, Let’s Practise, Culture Corner and I Can Do.

                  ✴ Compare & Contrast: This section lists the differences in words that appear similar to students, helping them to grasp the different application of these words;

                  ✴ Let’s Practise: This is a series of exercises set according to the latest examination format stipulated by the Ministry of Education. It takes into account the learning points presented in each lesson to help students revise more effectively. A Challenge Question is specially designed for Higher Chinese students; students taking Chinese can also attempt it to stretch themselves;

                  ✴ Culture Corner: Meaningful and engaging word games designed holistically to help students have fun while learning;

                  ✴ I Can Do: This section allows students to evaluate what they have learnt and how much they have mastered at the end of each exercise in order to uncover lapses in their learning process. Parents and teachers are encouraged to guide students in this evaluation.

                  ➌ Where necessary, difficult words are marked with pinyin to aid learning.

                  ➍ Suggested answers to the exercises are provided at the end of this book to facilitate assessment and self-learning.

                  ➎ We welcome and value your feedback on this book to help us improve the quality of subsequent editions.

                        Hi,

                        I bought 2 chinese assessment books for my children, EPH & SAP. Do you think just 2 is enough or how many do you usually get? DS2 in P5 & DS3 in P1 next year. Tempted to buy more after seeing recommendations here. Thanks in advance!
