Toddler's hands no choice - have to hold. Have to carry too sometimes. But the toddler reminds me strongly that I shouldn't hold his dad's hands.

Augmum,
When hubs started this job requiring him to travel so much, I really had a hard time adjusting cos I was so used to him holding my hands till I fall asleep -
Augmum,
Thanks.. yep.. absence does makes the heart grow fonder but in some situation, we might just get used to being away from the other half and felt nothing..
Its a delicate situation, i would say.. so need to work harder to keep marriage going.

My children used to cry when I held daddy’s hand. They wanted to be the only ones holding my hands until I had to keep explaining to them that holding daddy’s hands does not mean I love them less. Never knew children could be funny in this way.

We seldom hold hands now as a couple because I will be holding my son’s hand or he holding our son’s hand. Still miss the feeling of we holdings hands during courtship time.
One day, out of the blue in our bed, I reach out for DH hand and said "Do you know I miss holding your hand, it has been ages since we last hold hands together when we are out" I even hold his hands close to my nose to smell it.
I think DH must be wondering hmm…why wifey acted so funny on that night hahaha… -
We told our 4yo & 8yo to hold hands & then DH & I hold hands.

i am holding my DH’s hands again. i have long neglected him since the birth of our boy.

erm.. after reading the earlier posts, it struck me that DH and I hold hands to the extend that the kids walk by themselves and we hold their hands when crossing roads etc? hahaha
