just wondering if anyone has done this before and managed to update the new score (assume there's really marking error)..

Ds friend got an addition of 10 points after getting her science paper rechecked. That was last year.

:yikes: 10 points for psle t-score or 10 points for the subject?
10 aggregate points. Initially it was 233, after rechecking, her aggregate went up to 243.

If I’m not mistaken, when you submit the form for the papers to be checked, the subject/form teachers will also need to write a statement/recommendation or something as to why they feel that the student deserve a better grade. Eg: If the student is a consistent high A student and got a B for psle, then there has to be an explanation as to why the student did not perform this time round, and especially so if she did well for the other 3 subjects.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think students who fall sick during psle are also eligible for special consideration.

Did the parents get a refund of the $48 paid for checking? Shouldn't be paying for the mistake of MOE right? In fact they should compensate for inconvenience 😉
No refund, but I think they don't mind paying $48 for an extra 10 points 😄 . For me,I don't mind paying $96 if I can get an extra 20 points!

Personally, I don't feel there's an error in the marking. The papers would have to go through 2 different markers and checked again by the person in charge. Most of the time, the person who does the recording of the marks would also kay-poh and question the marker's marking.Could be that when they review, they are more lenient, or they also take into consideration the girl's prelim and other school results (I think the school would need to submit them). Based on that, then they adjust accordingly. But that's just my opinion. :scratchhead:

Exactly. Most of us would just accept the score given bec after all the moderation and bell curves etc who would know?

Communicated with DS’s teacher as we are not very happy with his English grade.

Seems like there are quite a few cases of expected A*s in the class who only gotten an A.
She said most likely was due to the writing section and paper this year was tricky.
And not much point to ask for a reveal as these are very subjective situation.
There are others in KS forum here with similar situation as well.

Just when to the school, fill up a form (name of school, student name, index no, subject to re-check & remarks), pay $, that’s it.

Please share with us the outcome after the recheck. May help future p6 parents in their decision to recheck the results also. And good luck !

What is the last day to submit for recheck? and when will they inform you about the outcome of the recheck?
