I think there's more than one reason. I'll list some:
      1. Drop-out rate
      2. Amount of homework given
      3. French more like EL - tenses / grammar
Anyway, if DD is happy with her decision, we are fine with it.

Cannot agree more. Get themselves make the decision, and the commitment. Will let you know her option later on.

Hi MummySTay, we put Japanese as the choice. Wondering how long she could tahan with the loading. Thank you indeed.[/quote] šŸ˜„ šŸ˜„
All the best in your DD's choice. I hope mine had made the right choice too.

Can I also check with you whether the following core CCAs are v popular and if there is a trial/intv to attend:-

        swimming
shooting (which you hv mentioned that there is a trial to attend)
        choir
        raffles ringers

DD was not in competitive sports tho she swims well, she also sang in choir for 1 yr at her primary school. She played the piano up to grade 3 and hence can read music notes. Thanks !

There may not be a trial for swimming bec most, if not all of the swim team are DSA girls, so there's no need for more members.

There are trials and auditions for shooting, choir and raffles ringers. Choir depends on whether the seniors auditioning you like you. Some ex-choir members didn't get in. Some with no choir experience got in. You are expected to be able to sight read music when you audition for handbells.

Thank you jtoh, you have been most helpful šŸ™‚
Just curious, what CCA is your DD taking now at RGS ?

Hi OrangeJuice, you're welcome. I'd rather not say what my dd's CCA is. Don't want to reveal her identity. Hope you understand. šŸ˜‰

Read on rgps website that the RGS 1:1 program will start in 2012, does anyone have any idea how much does the ICT Apple Device cost ? Thanks

anyone knows anything abt the ICT Apple thingy? I read on other threads that SST students are using the MacPro and it costs abt $2K ?! Will it be similiar in RGS ?

sure sure no worries ! I understand. DD is that kind of girl who doesnt have specific interest in most CCA other than Art and Craft, so just wanted to hear some feedback from other parents/girls šŸ™‚

              Thanks anyway šŸ™‚

Ask your dd to visit all the booths and performances during CCAO and see if anything catches her eye then. And sign up for a few auditions/trials/interviews. She might have some hidden talent she wasn't aware of. ;D

basically random posting from 101-108 S1-posting, however do notice that 104-106 seems to have more swimmers & others (sports DSA). 109-113, though GEP classes, there are some from S1- posting, also some in 109 -113 T-score may not be better than 101-108, b'cos they DSAed … Hence, RGS has high ability girls in all classes from 101 to 113, :salute:

I believe all girls who are able to secure a place in RGS are high ability girls. It's not important which class they're in. šŸ™‚ Just enjoy the Rafflesian experience.
