Oh yes, does any mummies send their kids to Berries at West coast branch? Any feedback?

Is your child a 2005 baby? If yes, she will be the same as my eldest gal, she is a Feb 2005 baby. And she is coping well & I have problem sending her for enrichment classes.

My twins are currently in gymnastics & chinese speech & drama classes as my eldest gal. My eldest gal also attends keyboard lesson & abacus class. but my no.2 twin refuses to go in the gymnastics classes despite her 2 sisters are with her. As for the Chinese Speech & Drama class, I only convinced her to go in after bribing her with sweets etc...

I will send them for trial lesson at Berries & decide.

We happened to have all the year end babies. End oct, beginning Nov and beginning Dec.

For my nursery going this year who was born in beginning Nov and she was mildly premature, she actually started her nursery program with Molin at the beginning of this year. She is coping well and enjoys her lessons. Prior to that, she has already been attending pre-nursery program for a year. I think that helps her to adjust to enrichment classes. She also does ballet and music courses.

Though she is the type who likes to look around to \"survey the environment\" but teacher commented that her attn span is improving.

You probably need to evaluate your child. Personally I feel that there is no harm starting at nursery. Eg. my nursery will ask my mum everyday if she has lessons that day and she looks forward to going for the lessons.

Berries (West Coast) did came to my mind in my consideration list.They are very new & I beleive no problem getting a place in there.

I think so too. My preferred location was Pandan Valley as it's nearer to my place, but the classes were mainly full & they do not have the same timing classes for my 3 gals.

Yes, my youngest is a Nov 2005 baby. We also have 3 kids. P2, P1 and nursery. I saw your other note that when they go to Primary school, you will reduce their classes. Frankly I am very sceptical. :lol:

Personally, I thought it will only get worse. Eg. my primary kids actually go to BC, Molin, Enopi maths, piano and chinese s&d. During dec hols, they also asked to go to Discovery science camp. They are not complaining and rather hesitant when we asked if they want to stop any lessons.

Meanwhile for the 2005, this year she is doing Molin, ballet, phonics and music. This is on top of nursery class. Next yr, I've plans to let her start some english prog (either BC or LW), Enopic maths and if possible a chinese S&D.... Actually when listing it, I realised wow.. so many classes huh. Fortunately so far she enjoys those extra lessons.

I was just computing as need to align with my hubby on cost sharing. We spend an average of $700 on each child on a monthly basis for these classes.

Ya this is what I heard from them too. Which branch is your child in? I was hoping to send to Pandan Valley as my eldest is also attending CMA at Pandan Valley. It will be an easier choice for my in laws too when they ferry them to & fro. Guess I have to explain to them about West Coast Location again.

After reading this post, I am starting to panic. My son is in nursery now, he speaks to me in Mandarin rather fluently and his kindergarten teacher is from China. However, he can recognised not many words. Some of his classmate are attending either Tien Hsia or berries.


I read both English and Chinese books to him but mostly English. He watches English TV programme and doesn’t like to watch Chinese programme. He is starting to read in English… at the rate he is going, I am afraid he might dislike chinese in the future.

Should I be Kiasu and enrol him in Chinese enrichment classes? Please advise.

Well the choice is yours but I would say no harm let them do have some exposure so as to have some headstart when they are in Primary 1. Nowdays, the parents have to give almost 200% to the school. School Teachers job seem easier now I guess in my own views.

I not yet confirm the chinese enrichment for my 2 kids yet.I do quite like Pandan Valley where it is very conveneince.
