Hi Reiner,She will start coaching my son tomorrow. More of a preparatory lesson for my son. As my son is poor in reading, i have also enrol him in 1 year phonics/reading and K2 english P1 preparatory
what you mean \"poor in reading\"? phonics - no teach in childcare ctr? my kid cc no enforce phonics so me do with her by myself... (no spare monies to go enrichment lor)... given her a spelling list on monday nite (12words, animals name) then tues get her to spell out... not bad she's able to listen to the sound... but gotta pardon my \"sounding\" lor... me always \"lau hong\" keke... she can read upto P &J book 10... but not keen of other books, beside those science topics.... and we gotta read to her lor... how to motivate her??
His teacher in K1 childcare say that he still cannot read by himself from a\" fresh \" book. And that phonics is good from age 0-4 and once they pass that age, it really have to depend words on sight like what we have been taught before. So hopefully he can still catch up on his phonics next year.. I am pretty bad myself but will try to pick up phonics too.
Do you know where i can learn phonics ? -

haha… parents-in-laws are okay lor (close one eye) but the sis-in-laws are "历害" lor (2 eyes, 2 ears gotta close)… but stimes me just shot back cos me is a "fast mouth" pax lor… hee… and my kids gotta give in to theirs even my boy is the youngest…

Luckily my SIL does not have kids so she adore my 2 kids very much…
My MIL stimes gets very petty of small things ( just quarrel with my maid yesterday nite cause the maid forgot to "jagur" the soup, she always think that the maid tell-tales on her , and that she is now promoted cause we are dependent on her )…sigh… i cannot close eyes or ears.
On one hand, had to say to my MIL that we will not listen to the maid and tell her to tolerate for a year or two.
On the other hand, have to tell the maid to tolerate my MIL cause she is old and tends to be naggy… -
so you kid in 3hrs kindy now… after sch, he’ll auto do the assessment books? or nap and play eh? who to jagur him eh?
will you intend to put you kid in student care when in Pri? pros and cons?? -
He is in afternoon class. So will have to assign him to do the assessment in the morning and take a short nap in the morning too. Will train him to auto-do the assessment which i will check in the evening…
Personally I do not like to put my kid in student care. Cons : If his friend are all " bookworms" is fine but if his friend are " active player" then i will influence him a lot as my DS is a "COPYCAT"
Pros: Will have professional teacher there to help to jagur and review the day work.
( above is just my personal opinion and view ) -
so the student care tr are holding certain paper qualification to be there? pardon my ignorance… tot the tr are just "baby sit" the kids yah…
how to train to be auto? my girl will move if tell so only… most times gotta scream for a few times then she’ll move lor… die lor…
