:rahrah: WOOwoo, Tinkerbelle. Congrats! :rahrah:
Hi cantbearit2,cantbearit2:
Hi Tinkerbelle,
How did yur DD fare in e PSLE? To yur expectation?
How did our MCS gals fare in this 2011's PSLE? Do u have any info to share??? :scratchhead:
Tks....DD did better than expected and will be able to go to her dream sch, RGS :rahrah:
Generally, this yr's P6 cohort has done well with more quality passes, despite the slightly lower than national average % for Chinese.
MCS 2011 PSLE pass rate is 99% with 77.1% qualifying for the Express stream.
Top score is 265 and there are about 12-15 students who scored more than 260. I forgot to count exactly how many as I was too overwhelmed by the whole event....keke.
i am sorry if i am late cos i have been on holiday. I bet you are very proud of ur DD1. its great to have her dreams come true. Its scary when i read the news that one of the top PSLE student actually did 50++ assessment books and even their sofa is filled with her books. hehe, its seriously unbelievable! -

My DD only use it on e sch bus on rainy days. She said it's hot in sch most of e time.
Actually, my DD uses the school jacket pretty often at the start and end of the year which was the rainy season and the bus's aircon is quite cold. If your DD is pretty resistant to cold, then you can skip the school jacket. Bear in mind that they can only put on school jacket but not other jacket if needed. I also get the uniform vendor to sew the name tag on my DD's jacket. She is so careless that I have to label all her stuffs. Just my 2 cents worth of advice.serpent2105:
Is it necessary to get the school jacket for the P1 as they are in the afternoon session?
Hi Phoenix,
I am not too sure on tat... jst placed an order for the jacket...
got a bigger one so that DD can use for longer...in case she feels cold...:P -

hey serpent,michyms:
ohdaddy, when I insisted on having the larger pinafore, the uniform lady said she will tuck in the armhole by 3/4 of an inch.
hi michyms, yes . me too insisted one size bigger and asked the aunt to sew the sides by 1/2 inch...
the length of the uniform is too short... can even see my gal shorts.. sigh... lucky my DD also say d dress short for her..
:yikes:
wow, ur DD must be pretty tall. For size 26, the length just touched my DD's knee. We tried size 28 and its really baggy on her, so we sticked on to size 26. -
Any good advise which school bag brand is good , SPI or crosscom…ect?

Hi funkymonkey,
Thanks for the info! :). Sorry, please pardon my ignorance but what does AED stand for?
Our DD is exempted from MT. Opting for French for our DD. However, still waiting for MOE Approval. Will have to check with the school soon, I suppose.funkymonkey:
Hi Gin,Gin:
Hi, can anyone advise me what will the girls (those exempted from MT) do or where will they go to when the other students are having their MT lessons? Tks!
My gal is exempted from MT.She used to stay in the CL MT class...but always no seats left (as other gals from other classes comeover to her class)she has to sit on the floor at the back of the classroom
....so then,i spoke to her FT and she allowed my gal to go to the Malay MT class and she sits at the back of the class (she has her own table) and does her own work. Most of the time though, the AED will come fetch her and they have some lessons together. Communicate with the FT and find the best solution that for your gal.Hope this helps!

Hi Gin,
AED is Allied educator. They help out kids with special learning needs

funkymonkey, I was reading in the papers that day that AED also help the teachers out during normal lesson times… does this also happen at MCS?

Hi michyms,
Ya,my gal tells me that sometimes that the AED comes during her lesson times as well...i think its mostly to observe the gals under her care as well as \"spot\" others who may be at risk
