Sorry to ask the stupid question and thanks for the answer. I just like to compare my son' s performance with the others. Because the newsletter said last year 30% graduates got high distinction and another 30% got distinction. Therefore says 60% students got above 4.0.

This year, 64 out of 207 graduates (Class of 2011) received the NUS High School Diploma with High Distinction.

If you are the type that with strong study ability, study hard + study smart, reading the environment well, how to emerge stronger when you are sinking or drifting apart, willing to trial & error, conviction to win, having secret receipe to succeed + some luck during exams, you are on the right track to score high distinction.

Quite untrue. Certainly there are many students who study hard; but the culture in NUS High is quite relaxed. It is considered quite in bad taste to be the sort who \"mugs\" one's homework. Contrary to what outsiders might expect, academic success is hardly emphasised; NUS High is a place where extracurricular talents are accorded more respect and prestige than doing well on tests and examinations.

Or perhaps this was mostly the Class of 2011. Supposedly the newer intakes, having mostly entered the school through comprehensive tuition and drilling, have internalised this bad habit of focusing on their studies.

My DS will be in year5 next year。but not plan the uni yet . Probably NUS. It is too expensive for universities in US. Can’t afford it. However, year 5 is very important year for the students. SAT, AP will be examined from year 5.
Need to focus more on his study.

SATs and APs are not too difficult. They are, however, expensive. Since you plan on your son going to NUS, it is not necessary to take them. They are required only for North American universities.

Yes, my DS in Y1 next yr.from SAP.Einstein club.
Those P3-GEP are not recognised in NUSH.They are just "normal" GEP.
No point re-indentifying them out.
