Juz went for DS’s PTM at CC on saturday… and chinese teacher say he is not very gd wif his HYPY… And they suggested that i may wan to invest in some A Star CD-ROM for him to learn… but it cost 300++ for the whole pkg whh incld english, maths, science…


But now, i m tinking, shld i put him in Berries?

go to the primary school link, then primary 1 part 1, there's a section on HYPY.

but I prefer the first title.

Then you buy a HYPY assessment books, there are a few titles, you pick the one you like in Popular. Remember just HYPY assessment books. There are 2 levels, basic and enrichment, you can buy both types.

The ref text has the chinese word sounds next to the HYPY letters and the combination, so still ok, if in doubt, use the web link. It has audio pronouciation.

You can also buy Chinese storybooks with HYPY to practise. My 4 5 quick read also have character cards with HYPY behind them, so I also use that to play with DD1. You can use the zi bao bao that's in the booklist. The cards do not have the HYPY on the back, so you will have to write it.

There are also CD and VCD about HYPY in popular that you can take a look at. There's this game Pin Yin Mix n Match Game

I saw it in a shop once but now can't remember where. When I try to search on the internet, I can only locate online shops that sell it. I don't think it's necc lah, but something interesting to look at, maybe Popular has it, can check with Bras Basah.

If you want to concentrate on phonics and HYPY outsource, then you can check with Berries.
