I dont think your boy is in the bottom class.I know when come to mixed ability class, the school usually group the students together.

I think bottom class, probably is one class only.It will be more obvious when comes to pri five and six.

Thanks for the clarification. Cos some of those in my boys class who did not fare too well are all in the same class and my boy is there too. So i wonder if this year the bottom 2 classes are more distinct.

Would you know which are the classes?

        Some observations

While the top student in his class did get posted to 3A, some 4 other students were posted to 3A as well. However, the student that came in second was not posted to 3A. That student went to 3J.

Maybe there further grouping based on strength in certain subjects? :?

          Hi tankee,

I guess its based on the standing position in the whole standard, not just based one one class alone. For instance, top in one class, maybe ten in another class.

That's what I thought too, but strange thing is why the kid that came in 2nd went 3J, while those after that kid went 3A with the top student.

                Hi tankee,

This sounds abit complex.Anyway, when term starts next year, everything will be clear.

Yearly there is streaming, after pri four, I think more or less, the pic will be clearer.

                Cheers,

                    Hello Plum cake,

For Pri three level, all will sit for the same papers
                    .
However, in pri four, when there are some into gep, bicep and mainstream, there will be some difference. But, eventually in the psle , all will take the same papers.

                    Cheers,
                    Leanne

My feel is that the top XX goes to 3A, then the next YY goes to 3J, then the next ZZ goes to 3A, then the next WW goes to 3J and so on....just my feel 🆒
